Do PMI certifications have the same value around the world?

The cost of applying for exams is quite different.

Examples for members:
- PMP 405.00 versus 364.00
- CAPM 225.00 versus 158.00
- ACP 435.00 versus 305.00

And so on!

Who will have started this mess?

I would say there should be a kind of fair pricing in place. I myself have not checked the new prices.
Dear Abolfazl
What does fair pricing mean when we're talking about strategy?
What is the risk of the brand and its products losing value?

Dear Rami
One of the elements for the perception of value (but not only) is the cost
There are other elements that must be taken into account for what is called value
How much do people (companies and/or organizations) value PMI certifications? How much are they willing to pay for these certifications? Will they react in the same way when they learn that the price varies from country to country?

My experience with nearly all the organizations I've worked with is that those that will subsidize their staff attaining a certification won't be too concerned about regional cost differences. With the PMP, many companies prefer to have their staff take a prep course which would be significantly more expensive than the application fee.

While there are better credentials out there for project management, none have achieved the mind share of the PMP, so it will continue to be of value as a foundational credential.

Dear Kiron
Thank you for your comment and your perspective.

Does the PMP brand continue with the same notoriety and the same positioning?

I believe so, at least in North America. I still see it referenced to the same degree in job postings, and PMI continues to market the real/perceived value of having it heavily.

And it continues to NOT be a badge of competency as I still run across newly anointed PMP holders whom I would be worried to have run any project more complicated than painting a room in my house!
