Ali,

great idea to look for a mentor. It will help you get better in self awareness and control and extend your perspectives.

I personally mentor about 10-15 people at any time, some for some months, some for years. Not only professionals, jobswitchers or leaders but also refugees integrating in Germany. 95% of the mentorship is virtual, e.g. via 1 hour zoom sessions. Time zones differences might add a constraint. See my LinkedIn page for some comments from them.

Some Chapters offer mentorship programs, so you can try to sign up there. If you follow this website and LinkedIn you can easily identify authors who could be mentors. Great leaders will react to requests and if capacity is there accept mentorship.

I have ended mentor relationships when I felt a lack mof sincerity. Some mentorships end after a defined period, e.g. a PM class ends, others when a personal problem seems solved. With most mentees I continue connecting over years. It is part of my network and I am thankful for that.

Good luck.

A mentor is a guide on your journey, helping you find your own answers. Are you looking for a mentor or an agent?
