Hello All, Great to be in this forum.

I am a PMP and intend to be a Prince2 practitioner in 2012. I have a few questions regarding Prince2. 1. Is it mandatory to take a Prince2 training from an accredited institute for taking the a) Prince2 foundation b) Prince2 practitioner exam? 2. If the tarining can be skipped how can we setup for the exams? Also, 3) Can there be a gap between foundation and practioner exam?If yes, by max how much?

Hi

No, no training is mandatory - I did Prince2 from self-training, and then a one day exam prep course, but even that wasn't mandatory.

Most countries do run "public" sessions of the exams, however these tend to be quite infrequent and rarely publicised well. Contact the APMG and they can tell you who arranges this in your location.

Yes, there can be a gap between foundation and practitioner, and I don't think there is any limit on this - once you are foundation, you are foundation for ever. I suspect most training companies would encourage you to be a foundation within the current version of Prince2 (new one comes out about each 4 years) but the level of knowledge tested at foundation level doesn't change much between versions so i don't think this would be a significant issue.

No training requirements. Foundation and Practitioner exams can be written separately but it is better to do them together,
