Hello All....

I just started the first Session for the PMI-CP certification (BEPC). I was looking for specific information on the 3-year construction experience requirement that is needed to get the PMI-CP cert. The exam content document does not discuss the the experience requirements in detail or the application process at all. I was looking for any comments, thoughts, insights from anyone who has gone through the course and the exam process

Thanks for all help!
Regards,

Mike

You better consult the PMI website. It provides detailed information for each PMI certification.

The PMI-CP application is straight forward. You only need to have 3 years of construction experience, and complete all 7 courses and 3 micro-credentials before you can take the exam. The application approval will take couple of days just like the PMP.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks Rami.... I was looking for some specifics on the exact type of experience they are looking for. I have acted as a sub-contractor for specific parts of the construction projects that our company was involved in. I was hope to check to see if that satisfied the requirement.

Michael, if you did work on construction projects regardless of your title and it was more than three years, then I don't see why you won't quality. Just make sure to mention the specifics of what you were doing in your application.

Hi I just started studying for the PMI - CP. I am a licensed Architect with 25+ years of experience in the construction industry, but just starting a new position as a Project manager. I have managed processes within projects but never the entire project, hence why I felt the need to take course and strengthen my skills. My question is in regards to what study resources are needed in addition to the 7 modules and 3 micro modules, is the PMBOK needed, are there any other resources I should purchase in order to help with passing exam.
Thanks.

Demetrius,

See the response from Rami in this this thread. I believe the information for the PMI-CP are contained in the course materials from the various sessions you must complete. There is not a PMI-CP study book that I am aware of. While knowing the material in the PMBOK will certainly help you with your projects, having a PMP,CAPM or other PMI cert is not a requirement for the PMI-CP. Best of luck!

Demetrius, Course material is the only material available for now. PMI combined all course material in a guide which you can download from PMI website. You need to study for the exam very well, and deeply understand all concepts. Good Luck!

Hello Rami,
I am preparing to take the PMI-CP exam certification but I can't find this downloadable file in which PMI combined all material from the 7 course modules. Would you be so kind to tell me where I can find it?
