Hello All....

I just started the first Session for the PMI-CP certification (BEPC). I was looking for specific information on the 3-year construction experience requirement that is needed to get the PMI-CP cert. The exam content document does not discuss the the experience requirements in detail or the application process at all. I was looking for any comments, thoughts, insights from anyone who has gone through the course and the exam process

Thanks for all help!
Regards,

Mike

Hi I just started studying for the PMI - CP. I am a licensed Architect with 25+ years of experience in the construction industry, but just starting a new position as a Project manager. I have managed processes within projects but never the entire project, hence why I felt the need to take course and strengthen my skills. My question is in regards to what study resources are needed in addition to the 7 modules and 3 micro modules, is the PMBOK needed, are there any other resources I should purchase in order to help with passing exam.
Thanks.
Thank you

Demetrius, Course material is the only material available for now. PMI combined all course material in a guide which you can download from PMI website. You need to study for the exam very well, and deeply understand all concepts. Good Luck!
Thank you

Hello, I am scheduled to take the PMI-CP exam later this month. Currently working on a study plan in preparation for the exam utilizing the information found on the exam content pdf provided by PMI.

Does anyone have a suggested study guide/study plan that worked for them as they prepared for the exam? Maybe certain areas /topics to focus on, practice questions, etc.

Thank you in advance!

You need to have a deep understanding of all concepts as the exam is heavily scenario based. Go through thru courses, and then read the guide which is a consolidation of all courses.

Being a new credential, I am not aware of practice exams yet.

Good Luck!

Hi, I am considering PMI-CP certification program as I am already working on construction projects to solidify knowledge and close gaps. I am seeking feedback/review of the program please from those who completed the program. Thank you.

The courses are very well structured and contain a wealth of Info. You have the option to purchase the self-paced courses and go through them at your convenience or take a live class through PMI (I know they are running a pilot program for live classes related to this credential but not sure if it is available for public yet).

Total number of courses is 7, of which three have a micro-credential associated with them. The micro-credentials exams are not proctored and fairly straight forward.

After your application is submitted and approved, you are done with all courses, then you can schedule to sit for the capstone exam. The capstone exam is difficult and scenario-based just like the PMP, if not more difficult. It is proctored and you can take it either online or at a PearsonVue center.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you so much for your response. It helps a lot. I will sign up for the online courses as I don't see any live classes offered as yet. Appreciate it!
Hello all,

I am an architect with 7 years of experience in the construction industry and I am very interested to start studying the PMI-CP, since my work involves a lot of project management. However, I have few questions and I would appreciate your input. As I see, PMI-CP is a new certificate, therefore I understand that we do not have a lot of past examination papers to work with. Is that correct? Also, how often is the main examination? Any of you proceeded with the exam already? Many thanks in advance for your help!

Course material is the only material available for now. There are no simulation practice exams that I am aware of.

Not sure I understand your second question: ’How often is the examination?” … What do you mean by this?

The main exam is difficult and scenario based so you need to have deep understanding of all concepts.

Hello Rami,

Many thanks for your help! For the second question ’How often is the examination?” I was not sure how is the examination scheduled.

Also, any of you used the Construction Extension to the PMBOK® Guide? Would it be useful as an additional bibliography for the capstone exam?

Again many thanks for all the information provided,
Best,

Athina
