Hello All....
I just started the first Session for the PMI-CP certification (BEPC). I was looking for specific information on the 3-year construction experience requirement that is needed to get the PMI-CP cert. The exam content document does not discuss the the experience requirements in detail or the application process at all. I was looking for any comments, thoughts, insights from anyone who has gone through the course and the exam process

The courses are very well structured and contain a wealth of Info. You have the option to purchase the self-paced courses and go through them at your convenience or take a live class through PMI (I know they are running a pilot program for live classes related to this credential but not sure if it is available for public yet).
Total number of courses is 7, of which three have a micro-credential associated with them. The micro-credentials exams are not proctored and fairly straight forward.
After your application is submitted and approved, you are done with all courses, then you can schedule to sit for the capstone exam. The capstone exam is difficult and scenario-based just like the PMP, if not more difficult. It is proctored and you can take it either online or at a PearsonVue center.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you so much for your response. It helps a lot. I will sign up for the online courses as I don't see any live classes offered as yet. Appreciate it!

I am an architect with 7 years of experience in the construction industry and I am very interested to start studying the PMI-CP, since my work involves a lot of project management. However, I have few questions and I would appreciate your input. As I see, PMI-CP is a new certificate, therefore I understand that we do not have a lot of past examination papers to work with. Is that correct? Also, how often is the main examination? Any of you proceeded with the exam already? Many thanks in advance for your help!
Hello Rami,
Many thanks for your help! For the second question ’How often is the examination?” I was not sure how is the examination scheduled.
Also, any of you used the Construction Extension to the PMBOK® Guide? Would it be useful as an additional bibliography for the capstone exam?
Again many thanks for all the information provided,
Best,
Hello, everyone! Thanks for this discussion platform, useful information are exchanging. I'm currently in the process of preparing for the PMI-CP exam. I've already completed two courses and have several more to go. I'm curious about the exam format. Are all the questions in a multiple-choice format, or are there any that require detailed explanations or elaborated answers? Rami mentioned there might be scenario-based questions, but I'm wondering if those are also multiple choice.

Soheil, as of now, all 170 questions are multiple choice questions but some will require you to chose multiple answers. If this changes in the future, I am sure PMI will announce it well in advance.
What I meant by Scenario-based questions is that the questions are situational (not knowledge based and straight forward like the micro-credentials exams) and will require the candidate to analyze the question and answers but they are still multiple choice questions.
Demetrius, Course material is the only material available for now. PMI combined all course material in a guide which you can download from PMI website. You need to study for the exam very well, and deeply understand all concepts. Good Luck!
Hello Rami,
I am preparing to take the PMI-CP exam certification but I can't find this downloadable file in which PMI combined all material from the 7 course modules. Would you be so kind to tell me where I can find it?

Luca, I checked with PMI, and this is the feedback I received:
"The PDF guide is only available to someone who has completed all of the courses and is in the process of applying for the PMI-CP exam."

I recently completed the Construction Project Communications course (previously a microcredential) and received a certificate of completion. However, the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) page does not indicate that I have finished the course. Do I need to take any additional steps?

If you received the course completion certificate, I understand that no action is necessary.
The same issue appears for me:
When I am logged into PMI.ORG and enter the PMI-CP link, the completion data for the other three courses appears, but there is no record of the date that I completed the "Construction Project Communications" course.
