MS Project came a long way but I still like Primavera more as there is more functionality and flexibility there. There are lots of other reasons that are too technical so I am not going to go through those.
Keep in mind that Primavera software is a database based software whereas the MS-Project is a file-based software.

It depends on your organization's needs. Primavera has a complete software Package that includes Control functionalities, Project and Product management, and ERP. Its database allows working with a big set of data. Also, it allows multiple-user access, and HTML conversion, to export to the Web.

In the current scenario, one has to also take into account the functional interoperability of the software. Since many companies are leaning towards Microsoft Office 365 for business solutions, including Office, BI and even MS Teams, it makes sense to go for a PM software within the same ecosystem, since there's more room for collaboration and Fluid information sharing.
