I'm currently reading Chapter 4 of the CDBoK about the Operating model.

I noticed the last component in the operating model is named 'Artifacts' in tables 10 and 11, whereas in tables 12 to 14, they changed the name to 'Supporting documentation'.

Any idea as to why the different names? Which one do you prefer? 'Artefacts' sounds more 'Agile' while 'Supporting documentation' sounds 'Waterfall'.

Both words are not the same in this context. Take into account that all this is focused on pushing a role: the Business Analyst. So, in that context "Artifacts" refers to all you need to take into account as inputs for doing the work and "Supporting documentation" is about all you need to create "to sell" the idea and to deliver as solution documentation. Additional comment (I am not writting this for your comment, it just a common way of calling things I am see along the years): I hope people around the world but mainly the stop using Agile and Waterfall as something that are a matter of comparison because this contribute to the general confusion outside there and jeopardize, in my humble opinion, the work of lot of people that tried to implement approaches inside organizations. Agile can be used with waterfall life cycles without problems.
