Hello, I am looking to take the Introduction to Project Management Course (currently based upon the PMBOK Guide Sixth Edition) that PMI offers. I am concerned that I will begin the course and it will be discontinued before I can complete it. Is there any information on when the course will be updated or when the CAPM examination will be updated to reflect the information in the PMBOK Guide Seventh Edition?

Jordan, I don't think this would happen. Usually PMI gives 6 months headsup or they will update the course you purchased but it is highly unlikely that they will discontinue it. That wouldn't be fair for people who purchased it.

While there are noted differences in the PMBOK Guide-Seventh Edition, such as the principles approach, each edition build upon its predecessors. You can be sure that what you learn from the Sixth Edition will be pertinent and applicable in later editions.
