Chat GPT is certainly a development that can change how PMs (and others) work. Other similar AI tools are in the pipeline. And this kind of AI bots is yet only one way how AI will impact the ways of working. There are many other tools, like AI meeting minutes, estimating, team morale insights etc.
Yet, all of those current AI tools are based on (big) data, and not on human decision making, either rational (deduction, induction) or emotional, based on values, beliefs and biases. AI cannot answer why and how (which is needed to predict a future), it can answer what, and better than we.
Obvious! LOL however in my organization we can't use chatGPT. Saving Changes...

If you are old enough, you might recall the emergence of email (around 1990).
Same discussion as we have here.
Still in the 2000s some managers asked their assistants to print out every email.
Get involved or stay behind. Your choice.

All tools available are great, AI or not, but there should be some caution that goes with that. AI tools are not to be used to replace what we should be doing because then you are just using input that you do not understand. In theory, I can now use AI to write a dissertation on nuclear fusion that would pass muster while I know nothing about the subject. This is not only misleading, unethical, and just wrong but it makes me the pied piper, leading people down a road of which I do not know the end destination. Oh and it could also make us dumb and lazy ;) Saving Changes...
