Some tips to jumpstart:

- visit the local PMI Chapter to meet people
- look at basic certifications and courses, e.g. PMI CAPM, PMI Kickoff classes (free), read PM articles, books
- join LinkedIn groups, e.g,.
- legal PM https://www.linkedin.com/groups/4254861/
- a PMI group https://www.linkedin.com/groups/2784738/
- get a mentor

You need to build both knowledge and network.

You better pay your local Chapter a visit.

I agree with Thomas. A good idea is to visit your PMI local chapter, to stay in contact with other people interested in Project Management.

A good basic course to start is KICKOFF. It's free and you can find it at this link: https://www.pmi.org/kickoff/

One way to enter the profession would be to leverage your knowledge of the legal domain and join an association focused on legal project management. One example of this is ILTA which has a sub-group dedicated to project management.

That way, your jump to the profession will mostly require you to gain competency in the PM "hard skills" as your experience as a lawyer would likely have well prepared you for the "soft skills".
