Based on PMBOK and Agile Guide setup a benefit system to keep the team driven and involved in the project is the way to motivate the project team to improve performance. "The PM should inspire and motivate the team and one of the tools available is the use of a reward system. Also as an Agile servant leader, the PM must promote the team motivation and a reward system is a great tool for that." Provide examples. Saving Changes...

It is worth mentioning that Agile promotes Team Rewards over Individual Rewards as individual rewards might creation competition within the team.
A reward system can be a great tool if properly utilised. For example, if a team achieves a certain milestone, they will get a bonus, gift cards, recognition, and so on. Rewards doesn’t need to be all monetary, but some can be non-monetary like recognition through something like “`Best Performing Team of the Month” to be displayed on the company dashboard, or website.
I agree with Rami. Events such as recognition lunches with the entire team are another good option. They still have monetary value but they are team oriented not just in the recognition but also team building.
I have seen individual recognition providing movie tickets and other items of small value go badly in practice. It sometimes turns into friends routinely recognizing friends with small gifts rather than meaningful recognition consistent across the team.

Don't forget that a reward system must fit and accommodate a recipient. I remember nominating an employee for a performance excellence award. The employee was selected for the award. While I wanted to present the award in front of the whole team, I learned that he did not want a public presentation. I booked a small conference and had our president present the award with only the three of us present.

Hi Yolanda,
One example of benefit system that you can apply in your team is concerning the timings. Some are early starters in the day, some come late. Provide reasonable accommodation to them as long as they have some core over lap time. Work from home a day ina week is another option. It not only provides benefits but research ahs shown to improve productivity. In other words, you being flexible is important.
An example of reward system or being a servant leader is you carrying doughnuts on a Friday morning in appreciation of the team reaching a milestone. Paying over time is another direct reward system.
Hope these examples help. Saving Changes...
With remote working & budget restrictions etc, it might not always be possible to treat the team to snacks, vouchers and so on.
I would write a mail to the employee, ccing their line manager to thank them for their contribution to your project and call out how they helped. Put it into context if you can about how their contribution helped you/the client/the company meet a goal. It is great material for annual appraisals. Saving Changes...
