I am working to revamp the Project Management practice for a midsize financial. I am looking through possible vendors/software to implement. I have found high reviews of Monday.com. It appears this will give us the features we want and also offers several other features we could implement in other departments as well. For those who use this vendor, what are your thoughts or concerns? And would you recommend to others?
Thanks! Saving Changes...

Hi, I've just done a similar exercise comparing various PM softwares. I decided against monday.com as it's more of a task management system than project management software.
I found limitations in hierarchy of tasks (you can only have 1 task and subtasks to it), meaning your project should be very detailed from the beginning. Also, there's very limited in terms of your whole portfolio view. If you have a number of projects / initiatives, there's really not much you can do in monday. Let me know if you have questions, I'd be happy to share my research. Saving Changes...
It depends on the project management approach.
For example, for cascade projects, you can use MS Project.
For hybrid projects, a good option is Planview.
For agile/adaptative projects, Trello or Jira are the best choices.
Also, for agile approach, there is a newfangled project monitoring solution that combines agile with global indicators. Every team member can be included in a Trello dashboard, to update the state of his respective tasks. Then, the information is translated into a global indicators panel, that can be shared with management supervisors. ServiceNow is an option for Hybrid projects, Azure DevOps can also be used instead of Trello or Jira, lots of things to consider... no right answer. Saving Changes...
It depends on your needs. You can review Smartsheet as well. Saving Changes...

Tyler,
I would warn against looking first for a software. As others say, it depends on your circumstances and expected benefits (??less troubled projects, ??more transparency, ??better repeatability, ..). Then you can model a to-be PM System (purpose, processes, roles, governance, metrics etc), and then search for a suitable SW tool to support your PM system. In the beginning, Excel will do.
I have seen great PM systems being destroyed by SW tools. Saving Changes...
