Overcoming politics from senior mgrs who are not 'on the train'
Anonymous
We have to put an end to some of the undermining of a huge project that is about to take place. A couple of directors are trying to sabotage the attitudes of employees by sending incomplete information that would affect the opinions about proceeding.
We're within a couple of months of signing a contract that will become a huge organizational shift and will create improvements and efficiencies organization-wide. It truly is positive change, and 20% of the workforce, including those executives, were involved in the selection process that showed by FAR the process we're looking at is the best for us.
I'm looking for suggestions on what other organizations (or PMO's) have done to manage this. Saving Changes...
Yes, he is probably the PM! it should be interesting whether we get a response. Perhaps Anonymous should be removed as an option from gannthead!! why be ashamed! Saving Changes...

Vasoula, I beg to differ. If Anonymous is removed, then we will not have such rah-rah topic to debate on. :-) Saving Changes...
Can you picture this! what if we all commented anonymous! the comments and views posted would not be taken seriously! a faceless person(s) carries no weight! amused! .... Saving Changes...

A part of me have to agree with you that I don't like to see a big '?' as the face of the person. But again, if the topic is too sensitive, people might not want to post it openly for the fear of being fired from the job. It takes a gutsy PM to blow the whistle even if there is a risk that he/she might swallow it. Perhaps, we should have the capability to set a discussion as private and public can only see the title and not the details. Request to participate in the discussion will be granted by the owner upon request. Saving Changes...
A good suggestion Wai the only issue would be all the other member PM's on gannthead would not have a say nor would they feel they are participating - anyway, its been 7 days since Anonymous has posted I wish them good luck in resolving their issue. Saving Changes...
Posting something like this about your company on a public forum would be definitely career limiting or may even contravene your company's commercial-in-confidence/communications policies.
Being able to ask for advice from the PM community without publicising your comany's dirty laundry is definitely one of the benfits of this type of forum. Saving Changes...

The underlying challenge appears to be the goverance, sponsorship, and/or stakeholder management. Depending on the size of the organization and scope of the project, the braoder and higher (up) the stakeholder enagement (and movement away from singular/selfish interest the greater the likelihood of organization support.
If this isn't the situation, then suggesting a company-wide communications event could serve to counter this abberant behavior by the directors.
