A few years ago, I did a poll that asked the question, “Which quality/brand do you most align with as a PM.”
* The relevant poll results are shown below
My question is this: Of these nine qualities, which ones have the potential to yield to automation provided by so-called AI-based agents/services? Recognizing that “intelligence” does not exist in current-day or probable-day solution offerings.
Which quality/brand do you most align with as a project manager? - Pragmatist, mixed methods (31)
- Manager (23)
- Coach (16)
- Process Specialist (14)
- Soft-Skills Expert (11)
- Technical Delivery Expert (10)
- Executive (7)
- Philosopher / Architect (6)
- Business Domain Expert (5) Saving Changes...

Hi Alexandru,
Advancements will continue to be made at ever-increasing delivery speeds.
My issue is that the “theoretical study of artificial intelligence” should be the only thing represented under the umbrella of “Artificial Intelligence” (AI). Everything else, including the current set of products/services in the marketplace referencing AI-technology; should not (in my opinion) represent themselves in this domain.
If we analyze artificial intelligence as a purely scientific/theoretical element, in this context, you are probably right. But all these researches remain theory, if they are not applicable in practice. Perhaps you are right that there is too much applicability in hundreds of IT solutions and this creates confusion for those who use it for the first time. But technical-scientific progress must be constantly promoted, both at the theoretical level, among the great human brains, as well as at the end-user level, which will not enter into fundamental scientific laws.

Alexandru,
I understand what you are saying, but let me add the following additional thoughts:
The solutions delivered under the name of AI have the full capability of representing and promoting their value propositions and engaging user bases without referencing or being associated with this domain.
Unfortunately, companies take advantage of sensationalism and human interest in AI. They know associating themselves with this domain will provide the undertone that their offerings are “advanced technology.”
Bottom Line: The developments we see under the name of AI are simply hard-won software engineering. No “intelligence” or “form or stage of intelligence” is in play. That said, solution offerings like ChatGPT are very concerning, not for their relationship with AI, but for their ability to destabilize personal and societal accountability constructs.
So, I’m all for the “constant promotion” and advancement of technology, but I’m against the sensationalized, obfuscated self-aggrandizement that proliferates the industry.

I I understand perfectly what you want to say.
They use the hype to prove their products, trying to get ahead of their competitors.
Yes, I'm also worried about "... but for their ability to destabilize personal and societal accountability constructs."
There are other forms of destabilization and manipulation of society, such as deepfake, and this is extremely worrying.
In my opinion, we must be fully informed about the new technologies, but also about their grey side, or even their dark side.

In my opinion, I believe AI tools such as ChatGPT can enhance productivity in those quality areas. My productivity has increased and I am just tapping into the world of ChatGPT. I'm excited. Not thinking of so much automating redundant tasks but I love the opportunity to strategically think and build on ideas and processes
For example, I created a high-level curriculum of Youtube references on a particular product/service to a customer. That curriculum provided me the technical value and understanding of the product which allowed me to truly identify task owners and their responsibilites. Saving Changes...
