Hello,
I need to complete 35 contact hours prior to submitting my PMP application. There is a course offered through the PMI institute but it costs $699 (US dollars). Does anyone know of any other less expensive courses, or methods, that I can pursue to achieve the 35 contact hour requirement? Saving Changes...
The 35 contact hours requirement does not require you to take a PMP prep course. Those are for any relevant formal PM training. As such, if you have taken a foundational PM course in the past and have proof of completion, that would qualify. So would courses on key power skills like negotiation, conflict resolution or communication.
I agree with Kiron. If you have the proof of 35 hours of training, you are good to go.
Anyways, I remember that Skill For Change used to provide a cheaper prep. course. Saving Changes...

Hello Gaetano:
I would definitely recommend assessing whether you can leverage any existing trainings you may already have available. For example, I used higher education coursework, trainings offered from my employer, as well as LinkedIn Learning project management courses to help satisfy the required 35 hours of training.
If you happen to already have LinkedIn Learning, I would highly recommend leveraging your existing subscription for this purpose! I find the LinkedIn Learning subscription more affordable, plus you have the added benefit of learning other skills in topics outside the discipline of project management. Saving Changes...
