An article “In Search of Project Management Principles” has been published in PMI’s academic journal, the Project Management Journal. It found a broad consensus across 22 project management standards and other consensus documents around 12 principles for effective project management, namely:
I think one of the foundational principles for effective project management is continuous improvement. I would also be interested in some context in your list. Some of the principles you mention are things that a PM can directly impact, others are more organizational in nature. It's important to understand them, regardless, but the PM does not have control over all of them; in some cases the PM may not even be able to influence them, depending upon how the company is structured.
While it can be interesting to talk about principles, I think this could lead to deeper discussions with the content being based on areas of control versus influence versus neither control nor influence. For example, a PM can do something WITH organizational values, but what can a PM do ABOUT them when one or more seem to conflict with other PM principles.
We don't need to dig into this here, I'm just thinking that this list could spawn several meaningful conversations. Saving Changes...
