Why does PMI not recognize experience in Project Management? When one has been Project managing projects for more than 30 years, you seem to get no credit in terms of certifications. Is this just a money making game by PMI?

I do not know what you mean. Experience is one of the key requirements for PMP. However, you should enjoy both experience and knowledge to be certified.

Sorry not sure I understand your question? If you want to apply for any of PMIs credential then your experience counts and should be valid.

Experience makes getting a certification a matter of passing a test and filling out an application. The educational requirements can be met by any number of non-PMI related institutions. One university level course will suffice.

Your experience has great value when applying for a PMP.

*If you have a four-year degree, PMI asks for 36 months of experience leading projects within the past eight years. In addition to this, you should have 35 hours of project management education/training.

*If you have a High School Diploma or Associates Degree, PMI asks for more experience: 60 months of experience leading projects within the past eight years. You must also complete 35 hours of project management education/training.

Organizations, all type of Organizations, have to survive, grow and develop in the current world. Strategy is the way to do that. So, everything is a matter of strategy.
