Every day I am more disappointed with what is happening at PMI Portugal.
Nomination instead of Election to Management positions.
These practices are the antithesis of what PMI stands for.
I will now transcribe a publication by the President: "Congratulations to all! Sharing themes that mobilize and question us on a daily basis is very important in this face-to-face and safe space! Traveling through territoriality is also one of the objectives of this beautiful initiative. Thanks to the founder and energizer Eduardo who we are proud to have on the Board of PMI Portugal as VP Members!"
Might be worth putting in a request to the PMI Region 8 region mentor to look into things. In case you aren't familiar with that role: "Region mentors are senior volunteers who provide advice, guidance and leadership to PMI chapter leaders, when needed, to develop their leadership capabilities and ensure member value delivery to build strong local chapters. Region mentors act as a resource along with PMI staff regarding policies and procedures, which enable the chapter’s operational success"

Dear Kiron
Thanks for the tip
I am convinced that everything will remain the same in "His Majesty's Kingdom"
PMI unfortunately doesn't publish the region map or who are the current region mentors from what I can find out. However, I was able to find this region map from a chapter:
Thanks Kiron, very informative but it doesn't show who is in charge for which area. One would think that this is something PMI should be publishing for the public to view as needed.
Thanks, Kiron, although I couldn't access the link provided (it shows a DNS error for my location) it's very interesting information about the existence of region mentors. Saving Changes...

Luis,
nominations to Board positions may be legal in specific situations, like an elected Board member stepping down and being replaced by someone elected by the remaining directors. The conditions and process should be written down in governance documents.
As for PMI regions, I did not find it in pmi.org, only hidden under Chapter awards: "New in 2022: the chapter awards program will represent the current region structure—instead of the former four macro-regions, up to three finalists, one in each size category, will be selected in each of seven regions:
1. Asia Pacific (Mentor Regions 9, 10, 15) 2. Europe (Mentor Region 8) 3. South Asia (Mentor Region 11) 4. Latin America (Mentor Region 13) 5. Middle East/North Africa (Mentor Region 12) 6. North America (Mentor Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 14) 7. Sub-Saharan Africa (Mentor Region 16)" plus there is China, without members and Chapters.

Dear Thomas
Anything is possible in "His Majesty's Kingdom"... Including nominating a VP instead of being elected by chapter members Why don't they put an end to this pantomime of electing, by the members, the direction of the chapters? Why doesn't PMI directly appoint chapter board members?
Thus, once and for all, the misconception that PMI is an association
It makes sense. I do not know what is happening there, however, from what you said, I think you should be worried!

Kiron, This is interesting and the first time I hear about Region mentors. Seems like a viable option.
Who is our region mentor in North America? What region are we? Where can we find info about Region mentors?
