I am looking to do an evaluation of a software solution leading up to the 5 year mark from go live to see if the solution is still meeting various goals, initiatives, keeping up with growth, vendor relationship, on going costs, etc. Any templates to help with the development of this evaluation? Any recommendations on where to get more info to properly plan and execute the evaluation?

Normally when we evaluation solution after X-Number of years, we do so by evaluating them against KPIs that were set during the outset of the project or program so you should look back at the project's initial goals, objective and KPIs then evaluate current situation against those metrics.

You might be able to find a general template under the templates section on this platform.

Thank you Rami. Unfortunately I was not with the company until after the solution had been in place for a year already and there is not much from the initial project. One of my goals is to put this as part of the initial project. Actually I can go back to the initial goals at least set in the RFP and some of that initial documentation to maybe help. I will keep looking through the templates also as I was looking more for the later eval and to your point need to look at templates for the initial implementation with objectives, kpi's etc and see what I can do with them in this situation. Thank you for the advice and quick response!

You may find something in the Template section of the website.
However, you will likely need to create yours.

When you compare against early goals, you are really judging the quality of the forecast made at that time, not the quality of the end result. For software and tech in particular, forecasts about future requirements years ahead of time are notoriously unreliable (i.e. they are always wrong!) so in any assessment the reality ought to be given a lot more weight than what is set out in an RFP or early KPIs.

Just to put this in the framework of PMI it belongs to business analysis discipline. Take a look to PMI´s guide on the matter, mainly the solution evaluation knowledge area.
