Hi all, the following is from an ATP test prep, and I'd like to see what the consensus is on this question as I have my doubts on the answer I was given. This info could be found on multiple documents from what I've seen in the PMBOK

Executing a sprint, what document would you use to determine the communication needs of your stakeholders?
A. Stakeholder Register
B. Stakeholder Engagement plan
C. Communication Plan

Thanks as always!

According to PMI“s Progress Group Practice Guide, page 206, the answer is C. Communication Plan

That is an ambiguous question. If it asked where you would go to confirm their needs or the expected communication methods then the comms plan is correct. But if we don't have a comms plan yet and need to develop it based on their needs, then either of the other two might be valid answers.

It all comes down to what they mean by "determine" :-)

I concur with you Kiron. Is it safe to say the exam wouldn't pose an ambiguous question like this? Cause in a test we don't have the chance to ask for "clarification" :-) and have to answer it as it's given.

It is a little bit tricky. Given that the question is correct, I would say "C"

Many questions on the exam have multiple right answers but one best answer. I'd say perhaps 1/3 I marked for follow-up on my first pass through all the questions, then had to go back and sort out which of the possible answers remaining was best.

Giancarlo -

Real exam questions go through a fair bit of field testing before they are allowed to count against someone's score. If the test data shows a fairly even split between the correct response and an incorrect response, the question would likely be rewritten or, in an extreme case, discarded.

I do agree with Kiron's analysis for the question and answers. It is not a well formulated question in my opinion.

That said, you might encounter few of those in the real exam so be careful how you interpret the questions.

Good Luck!
