one of my friends passed away, he didn't have much money left or asset, being a remarkable technocrat and lead for multiple projects he didn't have many savings, situation like that happens and anyone get caught in the whirlpool. talking to his accountant who shared his stories with me, at first i took this as something god willing, but in fact there are some great products in the market which can protect your family from such a financial meltdown.

learning from stakeholder management, you are the very first stakeholder, accompanied by your family. please prioritize your as well.
reach out to me, i will be glad to provide guidance to all associated folks.

Sorry for your loss, Anshuman!

You should manage your own personal life as you manage a project if not more closely. Manage risks, budgets, timelines, future forcasts and so on.

Feeling for your loss. It is true that we must also project in our life.

We should live in the present, but also learn from the past, and plan for the future.

My sympathies for the loss of your friend. Sadly, I've heard this story before...smart/successful people neglect taking care of themselves and/or their personal affairs. Project management teaches us to plan and anticipate what may come. I'm a big believer in contingency plans.

thank you, i have heard similar instances couple of times, we dont factor in mortality and even disability into our calculations. i am trying to bring in awareness regarding this, maximize the family and people protection who are direct and indirect participants to the project

Sorry for your loss.
as we plan for our projects - it is also prudent we do the same to our personal lives - retirement, finance included. It might not be that easy at first, but consistency is the key.

This applies to all, myself included.

"Nearly every great advance in science arises from a crisis in the old theory, through an endeavor to find a way out of the difficulties created. We must examine old ideas, old theories, although they belong to the past, for this is the only way to understand the importance of the new ones and the extent of their validity."
