Hello All,

I am creating a presentation on The Reasons for Project Management for the technical / administration staff in our organization. I would like to include some statistics on project failure however I cannot find any documentation on the PMI website to quote. I thought there was some information on this in the Pulse of the Profession series however I am having difficulty locating anything specific. Does any have an idea on where I can obtain some official documentation that I can reference and quote on project failures?

Any and All help is appreciated... Thanks in Advance...

Regard,
Mike

I remember a pulse publication on the matter but related to business analysis and requirements management.

Michael -

I don't know of recent studies which cover all industries and all sizes and scales of projects - most of the ones I'm aware of look at a specific domain or other subset.

A couple of ones to look at are:

- Standish's CHAOS report on technology projects - not sure when the last one was released?

- The work Prof. Bent Flyvbjerg has done on mega projects
