Hello all,

I am preparing to sit for the PBA and I was wondering if there are any exam simulators that offer similar question content and structure. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've earned this credential few years back so can't recommend a specific simulator now, however, I shared my journey at the time in my blog (Link below) including what simulator I used:

Hope this helps.

I've been searching this question everyday and getting different responses and have no idea which is the "correct" one to use. You will always find someone who says, "No, XYZ's questions were not at all similar to the PBA exam." So, you move onto the next exam simulator, and rinse and repeat, someone says, "No, that was no where near as complicated as the real exam, blah blah blah." Also, I recent got a hold of the IIBA's BABOK, I understand that the exam is obviously geared towards PMI's way of doing BA. Did anyone find any help reading the BABOK? I'm hoping to sit for the exam in the next few months or so, and halfway through a PMI focused PBA exam prep book and do not have time to read two full books cover to cover. Anyone find any use for the IIBA's BABOK?

I was part of the group of authors of BABOK. Then I worked in the group that created PMI´s guides related to BA. From years, until 5 years ago, I taught certification courses for both certifications, CBAP and PBA. So, to read the BABOK will not help you with PBA mainly because the approach is totally different. While PMBOK version 6 was active what helped you to get the PBA was to read the PMBOK and to read the Practice Guide for BA. On the other side, RMC guides will help. Remember: exam questions are situational question for this reason the practice guide will help you.

Sergio, your credentials are quite impressive! Thank you the advice. I actually reached out to Barbara Corkenford who wrote the PMI-PBA Exam Prep Guide and she, too, recommended that I read the PMI PBA Practice Guide.
Sergio,
Do you recommend reading the whole guide? It is 162 pages in total. I downloaded it from PMI in PDF format because I'm a member, it was free.

Sergio, I have the ACP, PMP, and RMP. With that being said, the PMBOK was a huge help for both the PMP and the RMP (for the RMP, only a few sections were relevant particularly the chapter on risk management, obviously).
You mentioned to read the PMBOK, but what sections should I focus on or should I have a general understanding of everything? I took and passed the PMP 2021 so my comprehension of the PMBOK might be somewhat rusty.

Exam questions are situational. My recommendation is putting focus in PMI's "Business Analysis for Practitioners: A practice guide". The guide has sections related to collaboration between both roles. Just in case after read it, if you need to reinforce something reading the PMBOK guide go for it.

Sergio Luis Conte I've heard to use the guide but I've received conflicting suggestions on which edition to use. Since the exam hasn't been updated, I've heard to use edition 1 but PMI only has edition 2 downloadable.
