How can AI help the profession of project managers, considering that emotional intelligence and communication are fundamental for a PM?

Is it possible to automate for example some standard communication like meetings' recap or other repetitive tasks that don't request the human touch?
Which tools could be useful in order to positively embrace artificial intelligence?

First of all, I think AI can only be used as a tool to improve work efficiency at the moment, and cannot replace human emotional expression. As a product manager and project manager, AI can greatly help me by quickly providing me with solution ideas and reducing the time I spend on random thoughts. It can also help me quickly build a project architecture model.

For now, with chatGPT, if you give it one or some meetings, it can help you to recap.

About repetitive tasks, please give more specific examples, then we can discuss.

At present, AI tools are good at supporting a PM by providing draft versions of communiques, but I don't feel they are advanced enough to fully understand context and emotional cues to craft a perfect message.

In time, this may be possible but given that only a small percentage of what is being said is ACTUALLY what is being said (i.e. body language, tone) it would require an AI capability with full sensory capabilities to match a PM.

As I've said before to a number of other AI-related posts, AI tools in the near term will help remove some of a PM's administrative burden but the people side of project management will continue to be a core area of focus for (human) PMs.

Be careful with what you input into tools like ChatGPT. It was banned at my last organisation as it was considered a critical security risk (I think some people were trying out some algorithms or entering other sensitive info in it)

However, MS Teams has a transcription function and I often use it to save me from writing minutes. I can go over the transcript and summarise the actions for my stakeholders. It is an opportunity to add context that the transcript might miss.

But AI isn't a new thing, be wary of jumping on the shiny tech bandwagon. Why does it have to be AI? It is only as good as what you feed into it.

The answer to your query on repetitive tasks could be available to you already. For example, MS Word, Outlook, and Excel have various task macro functionalities. There could be opportunities to standardise your work (e.g. templates, Quick Steps in Outlook). It is hard to say without further info.
