Hello everyone.

My friend has just finished the exam (she took the test at the testing center), but the test results haven't been released. She received a notice stating that the results are being sent to PMI for a pass/fail decision. Does anyone know if this is normal or what the reason might be?

I understand that PMI has introduced a change to the online testing process to reduce the risk of fraud and part of that change is a waiting period on getting the pass/fail decision. However, I did not think this was also a change to in-person testing so it might be worth for your friend to follow up with PMI customer care directly.

Hi to all , hope everyone is doing well. I wrote my Pmp online exam just now in my room. But at the end of the test I didn’t get my result does any one have any idea what may be the reason ? And during exam I got couples of message to adjust camera and shoulders should be shown during exam from the proctor but my exam went successfully. Does it affect my exam results in any way ?please advice.

Regards.

I personally haven't heard of a change to the in-person exam results timing and what Kiron mentioned is news to me as well.

Yeah, I've looked for it too on PMI's website. My suspicion is that it was communicated directly to ATPs and hasn't been published yet. I've seen two reputable ATPs post info about it on LinkedIn but again, the scope of the change was reported as being only the online test, not in person as well.

A quick follow-up. This change was effective yesterday so I believe PMI staff are going to be updating the Certification Handbook, the FAQs and other online references to reflect it.

I did find a reference in the ATP "what's new" to this:

"At the end of the exam, candidates will be notified that their responses have been sent
to PMI, and they will get an email from PMI with exam results within five (5) business
days.

We’ve introduced enhanced data forensics. If misconduct is found, the exam is considered
a security failure. The candidate will receive an email notification that their score has
been canceled and will not be provided. Candidates who receive a security failure can only retake the exam in person (CBT) and at their own cost. Security failures will count towards the candidate’s three PMP® exam attempts allowed in a single eligibility period."

So it looks like this will apply to both in-person and online PMP exams.

Thanks for the update. This is very interesting and I honestly do support this new change because things ugly when it comes to misconduct.

What's surprising is that PMI did not notify the community in advance as they usually do for a major change like this, at least from my point of view.

Thank you for the information.

We spoke with the person who was our instructor during the course, and he mentioned that PMI started this change of 5 business days for in-person exams this week, so it could be something new.

I had same experience yesterday. Was shocked to find that I didn’t get a preliminary result. I asked the proctor who informed that this started just a couple of weeks ago. For a project management institute. One would expect a better plan to implementing a change of this magnitude. I’m a little disappointed.

Hi. I got it almost midnight on Sunday. So it took about 36hrs wait time, which isn’t the worst but just wish it was better communicated. Best part is that I passed above target which helps. LOL.

Good luck with your results!

I just took it today with the same response. Does anyone know if really takes 5 days? Or how long was a typical response time?
