There are a number of free Project management 101 articles and courses available on the web including a PMI article and some of the better known software providers. Although free, most of it is copyrighted so citations would be required if not explicit permission provided by the author as it says at the bottom of the PMI article. They might serve best as potential outlines for PM basics.

Thanks Keith. There are many articles and YouTube-type videos on the web. Many are very helpful. I was hoping that PMI would have or develop courseware for undergraduate students. Most won't be project managers, but many will get certified. PMI has a beginner very brief introductory course but that one is too brief. I need basic easy to use forms like the kind found in the "Book of Forms".

Thanks Rami,
I just did project Management for beginners. That one may be a bit too brief for the class. However, project kickoff is a bit more in-depth and may be helpful. Thanks for the suggestions.

I would be surprised to find PMI or anyone else giving away course material for undergrads, unless you are selling a book or software. Why give it away for free to someone who's going to make money off of your work? When I managed development for training at a large firm, it took about 40 hours to make 1 hour of finished presentation quality material.
Your best bet might be trying some of the SW companies like Wrike. I have seen some who do have free training, and for many of my own college courses required purchasing a student version or license for some software used as a training tool, often included free with a VERY expensive text book. Hi Gary, Thanks for reaching out about this! All the replies have been helpful, Kick off is a great resource being used in classrooms. PMI does have curriculum to support teaching project management at all levels. You can find the documents here and take what you need to build the course. Please note that we are currently updating these resources and a new release will be available in 2024. https://www.pmi.org/learning/academic-rese...m-and-resources Reach out if you have questions or comments for the PMI academics team! Aliki,
Thanks so much for sending the link. I read through a big part of Volume 1, and it looks like the research done in 2015 addresses the exact issues I am seeing. I can't wait to read the rest and see the 2024 collateral. I am seeing a lack of college-level materials that address PM (overview) and not necessarily training for a PM career. Some of the research suggested curriculum covering the topics I think would be helpful. I would love to see PowerPoint presentations and brief videos geared toward some research results topics. I would happily explain my needs further if there is still an active research program.

Is there a basic textbook you would recommend? The students are sophomores and they meet 16 times a semester. (block schedule)
