I am currently developing an AI Assistant that is multifunctional and trained on company data. Its main purpose is to streamline tasks and make the entire company more efficient as a whole, as it will have different functions available to each department. Here are the features that are currently (subject to change) being implemented:
Note that the output of the assistant will be different depending on who is using it
1. Safety knowledge readily available
2. Project Statuses and Updates, no more combing through tons of documents
3. Weather Updates
4. Administrative Tasks, such as sending emails and reminders
5. Retrieving contact information
6. Reporting and automated communication
7. Generate Project plans
8. Security passcodes to protect data
9. Worker onboarding through a training process
10. Legal document database, can be interacted with using NLP
11. Integration with Slack, Microsoft teams
Exploring the area of bespoke AI development is important to me, as I don't trust OpenAIs data security at all. I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts on this, are the benefits clearly presented to you? Or would the ROI still be too difficult to measure? Saving Changes...
Hello Reid, This is a great idea. We at PMI are exploring something similar and I would love to talk to you. Please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. Cheers! Saving Changes...
Given the uniqueness innate to projects and the contextual differences between companies in the same industry, I do believe there is greater benefit in having AI tools trained on internal company data instead of a broad set of external data assuming the internal data is accurate and complete.
The one challenge with taking a bespoke approach to addressing specific use cases is that it does become an ongoing maintenance effort and cost to the organization so hopefully the cost savings or other benefits justify the one time and ongoing costs.

Dear Alex,
Your initiative to develop a multifunctional AI assistant tailored to your company's needs is an ambitious and forward-thinking project. The features you've listed demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of company operations that can benefit from AI integration. Here are my thoughts on the potential benefits and the considerations for ROI measurement:
1. **Safety Knowledge Accessibility**: Having immediate access to safety protocols and guidelines is crucial, especially in high-risk environments. This feature could significantly enhance workplace safety and reduce the likelihood of accidents.
2. **Project Statuses and Updates**: Streamlining access to project information can save considerable time and effort, improving overall project management efficiency.
3. **Weather Updates**: This feature is particularly beneficial for industries sensitive to weather conditions, such as construction or logistics.
4. **Administrative Tasks Automation**: By automating routine tasks like email correspondence and reminders, staff can focus on more complex and value-adding activities.
5. **Contact Information Retrieval**: Quick access to contact details facilitates smoother internal and external communication.
6. **Reporting and Automated Communication**: This feature can improve the accuracy and timeliness of reports, aiding in decision-making processes.
7. **Project Plan Generation**: Automating this aspect can significantly reduce the time spent on project initiation, allowing for quicker project turnarounds.
8. **Security Passcodes**: Ensuring data security is paramount, and customizing access levels can help maintain data integrity and confidentiality.
9. **Worker Onboarding and Training**: Streamlining the onboarding process can enhance the new employee experience and improve training efficiency.
10. **Legal Document Database with NLP**: This could revolutionize how legal information is accessed and interpreted, saving time for legal teams and reducing reliance on external legal consultation.
11. **Integration with Communication Tools**: Enhancing connectivity with commonly used platforms like Slack and Microsoft Teams can significantly boost collaboration.
Regarding the ROI, the key lies in identifying and quantifying the specific areas of improvement your AI assistant addresses. Here are some metrics you might consider:
- **Time Savings**: Calculate the reduced hours spent on administrative tasks, report generation, and information retrieval.
- **Efficiency Gains**: Measure improvements in project turnaround times and the speed of decision-making processes.
- **Safety and Compliance**: Assess the reduction in workplace incidents and improve compliance with safety and legal standards.
- **Employee Engagement**: Monitor changes in employee satisfaction and productivity, as a more efficient environment often leads to higher job satisfaction.
Given your expertise, you're likely well-equipped to identify the appropriate metrics for your organization. The key challenge will be establishing baseline measurements before implementing the AI assistant and then regularly tracking these metrics post-implementation to gauge the impact.
Overall, the benefits of such a system seem clear, particularly in terms of operational efficiency, data security, and employee productivity. However, quantifying these benefits in monetary terms will require a detailed analysis of the current operational costs and the anticipated efficiencies gained through AI integration.
Hi Alex Reid wondering if your App is still available?
THanks

It's no surprise that engineers and techs are rushing to AI.
But their real-world project and org-challenges is their knowledge and ability
"How to play nice with others."
What's missing"
Collaboration, cooperation, and communication.
Active listening vs. instant defense of opinions.
