-Your name and your current role: Laura Coscarelli, and I'm the Manager of the Online Community here at PMI (the discussion forums on projectmanagement.com)
-What did you want to be when you were growing up? I loved mystery books so I wanted to be a detective, but I'm not good with dead bodies, so had to scratch that one off the list.
-What are your favorite project management tools and technologies? Or ones that you’d like to learn more about? monday.com, and I also love Notion and Loom!
-What drew you to the project management industry? What's kept you in it? I have always loved working with project managers because most of them didn't study it in college and found their way to industry, and I love organized people :-)
-What's your proudest accomplishment (personal or professional)? I was building communities for teachers, and one teacher said that she was going to quit, but decided not to, because of our community. I always think about her and how many other students she was able to reach because she realized she wasn't alone and finally got the support she needed. Saving Changes...

Hi all, I am Steve from the Netherlands. I have been in the software implementation business for 14 years now. At first as a technical consultant, then implementation consultant (functionaly) modelling the software to the need of the customer), and for the past 6 years as a project manager.
I am hoping to learn a lot from the PMI community, and at some point in time be able to share wisdom and experience myself with you all.

Steve, We're happy to have you as a member of the PMI community. There are a lot of awesome resources and folks here within the online community to help you on your PMP journey - Good luck!
My Name is Veloria and I received my PMP this year (2024) in Feb. I was doing project management for logistics and payments team for 3 years and in April I changed industries as a PM at a precast manufacturing company.
-What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Ha! When I was growing up, I wanted to design roller coasters or design the themed areas at an amusement park. That later turned into designing spaces for people to enjoy. Now, I still like to design but I also realized I am great at PM and seeing the completion of a project that I worked on is also satisfying.
-What are your favorite project management tools and technologies? Or ones that you’d like to learn more about?
Hmmm I don't really have a fav. pm tool as each company I worked for had their own built-in software for PM that was specifically for that company. However, I am interested in learning more about MS Projects.
-What drew you to the project management industry? What's kept you in it?
Actually, I fell into this role, my last position was still building its foundation so the department needed people who would think out of the box, create processes, test them, collaborate, etc. in order for it to be successful.
-What's your proudest accomplishment (personal or professional)?
Obtaining my bachelor's in landscape architecture and PMP honestly and showing naysayers that I can actually do this!

Greetings, everyone!
My name is Erin Thomas and I am currently a Technology and Innovation Specialist within a large school district in Florida. I always thought that I wanted to be an elementary school music teacher when I grew up and though I truly enjoyed my time in that field, I quickly realized that, that was not my true passion. Life and experiences really do show you what you want to do! As I have been learning more about Project Management, I love learning about Scrum! I am currently studying for the CAPM but see myself achieving more certifications in Scrum in the future.
What drew me to project management was learning about the profession through mutual friends. I was casually talking about what I was looking for in a career and what I love to do as work and project management was something that was brought up. I immediately began taking courses and studying everything about it. I am proud of the fact that I have not given up in life. I know that there are a lot of risks and setbacks in project management but there have also been those things in my life and I have decided to never give up and continue to move in the direction of what I love. I took a big step in seeking mental health help and really embracing who I am as a person as I navigate the world and I wouldn't change that for anything.
look forward to making connections and eventually making that big transition into the field of project management in the future.
Thank you for this opportunity to connect.
