I am Arvin Beik with over a decade of experience leading and delivering enterprise technology initiatives across public sector and educational institutions, with a strong focus on cloud transformation, infrastructure modernization, and large-scale systems integration. My professional foundation is rooted in cloud and infrastructure architecture, where I have consistently operated at the intersection of technical execution and strategic project delivery. Throughout my career, I have led cross-functional initiatives involving hybrid cloud environments (Microsoft Azure and AWS), enterprise identity systems, endpoint management platforms, and virtualization technologies. I specialize in translating complex business and operational requirements into scalable, secure, and resilient solutions aligned with organizational objectives. In my current role as Senior Technology Support Specialist at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, I contribute to enterprise infrastructure operations supporting thousands of users, while also playing a key role in modernization efforts, including cloud adoption, identity integration, and endpoint security standardization. My responsibilities extend beyond technical execution into structured problem management, operational documentation, and continuous service improvement—ensuring alignment with IT governance and project delivery frameworks. Previously, I held roles with increasing responsibility, including Supervising Technology Services Specialist and Database Administrator, where I led initiatives such as:
Enterprise deployment of Microsoft Intune integrated with Azure Active Directory to enable modern device and identity management
Virtualization and infrastructure consolidation projects improving scalability and cost efficiency
Implementation of backup and disaster recovery strategies aligned with organizational resilience objectives
Development of data governance frameworks and reporting automation pipelines supporting decision-making
These initiatives required rigorous application of project management methodologies, including scope definition, stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation, and delivery governance—aligned with PMI standards and best practices. My PMP certification complements a strong technical portfolio that includes AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, and multiple infrastructure and security certifications. This combination allows me to bridge the gap between project management discipline and deep technical architecture—enabling effective leadership of complex IT programs. Within the PMP community, I am particularly interested in advancing discussions around:
Integrating Agile and hybrid delivery models into infrastructure and cloud projects
Driving digital transformation within public sector organizations
Aligning technical architecture decisions with project portfolio strategy
Enhing governance, risk management, and compliance in cloud adoption.
Hi Arvin Beik, welcome to PMI's online community! We're so glad to have you here and look forward to seeing you in the discussions. Saving Changes...

Jonathan BurtGlobal Project Manager| DigiTek-USAAuburn Hills, Mi, United States
Good morning,
Looking forward to crossing paths with you all; whether virtual or in person. Scanning through the posts, I will be learning a lot from this community.
Being in the professional industry over 25 years, and expanding my view over the hump towards retirement, I am definitely attempting to work smarter not harder. My profession is in the automation/manufacturing sector. I hear a lot of talk about A.I., but I am not certain this field will be taken over by it. This field relies on human intelligence and someone has to physically install conveyors, robots, program PLCs, look at safety/OSHA requirements and such. Not to mention, the repair of damaged equipment/retooling.
I have been a PM since 2012, but finally worked hard enough and strained my brain to receive the PMP certification in November 2025. Therefore, I am sure some wise words will be shared here and good luck to those striving for certification.
Growing up I wanted to be an underwater welder. I did not pursue it as it was not much training in my part of the United States. But, I did weld throughout high school and undergrad while working for BASF-MIG, TIG, and Arc. My transition from engineering to PM is parallel as I still work in the engineering field. However, I was given several assignments during my career where learning the ropes of PM was not the focus, but intentional none the less. In conclusion, this is the perfect role for me.
My name is coco, and I’m currently working as a Project Manager / PMP® practitioner. When I was growing up, I wanted to be someone who could organize things well and solve problems step by step — and that’s basically what project management turned out to be! My favorite PM tools include Microsoft Project, Excel, Trello, and Slack. I’m also interested in learning more about agile project management tools like Jira and data-driven PM software. What drew me to project management was the chance to turn ideas into real results by leading teams, managing risks, and delivering on time. What keeps me here is seeing projects come to life and solving challenges alongside the team. One of my proudest accomplishments is successfully delivering a complex project on schedule and within budget, while also keeping the team motivated and aligned throughout the process. Happy to connect with all of you and learn from your experiences! Saving Changes...
Hi everyone, I am Jessica, a medical doctor and Global Health Advisor and a certified PMP. I am currently job searching after over 20 years working with USAID in five Africa (Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeira, Liberia, Zimbabwe) where I managed multi-million federal public health programs. I have always wanted to work in the health sector and that is what I have been doing all my life. I get a lot of gratitude saving and improving the quality of live of beneficiaries of the programs I manage.
I have designed and managed many programs and projects and what I like most is conceptualizing a problem, collaborating with teams to come up with proposals on how to solve the problem, analysing each option, and designing a project that would yield the best results and most value to the stakeholders. I also love managing a project from inception through all the project phased through close-out. I feel fulfilled when I see a project through all these phases, addressing challenges, risks, and issues up to completion. Next, I want to train to become a SCRUM master and also I want to learn more about Gen AI.
I love project management industry because of the opportunity to produce something of value to the stakeholders in a collaborative manner. Seeing the results and impact is what has kept me in project management. My proudest moments have been solving a problem that yields results and also reducing disease burden through the projects I have managed over the years in the five countries I have served. Rahaf AjajEducator/Trainer| Abu DhabiAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Hello everyone, I am Rahaf Ajaj, an Associate Professor in the College of Engineering at Abu Dhabi University. Recently, I have also taken on the role of Academic Outreach Lead for the PMI UAE Chapter, where I bridge the gap between academic research and excellence in industrial project management.
When I was younger, I was always fascinated by the "why" behind the physical world. While many children dream of being astronauts, I wanted to be a scientist who could protect the environment; a dream that eventually led me to a Ph.D. in environmental radiation and a career dedicated to sustainability.
In my research and academic leadership, I rely heavily on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools like SimaPro and OpenLCA to manage the environmental impact of complex projects. Currently, I am deeply immersed in preparing for my PMP certification, and I am particularly interested in learning more about integrating AI-driven project management tools to streamline interdisciplinary research workflows.
What drew me to the industry was the realization that scientific breakthroughs remain "on the shelf" without structured execution. I entered the field to ensure that sustainability and safety initiatives—especially in nuclear and renewable energy—are delivered with precision. What keeps me here is the impact: seeing a complex, multi-stakeholder project move from a theoretical framework to a real-world solution for the community.
Professionally, achieving the status of Chartered Scientist and Principal Fellow of Advance HE (PFHEA) is a highlight, as it represents my commitment to leadership in teaching and supporting the next generation of engineers. Personally, I am incredibly proud of my work advocating for Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) and mentoring junior researchers to ensure their intellectual contributions are recognized and protected. Tevin MemlaProject Manager| GRACE Artisan SchoolItaly, South Africa
Hi Laura, thank you for the warm welcome! It's great to officially join and connect with this community. Here is a little bit about me.
I Am Tevin Memla. I’m a Strategic Project Manager and the Founder and Managing Executive of GRACE Artisan School (G.A.S.)⛽️, an institution focused on renewable energy and entrepreneurial training. I’m also currently pursuing my MBA and preparing for my PMP certification exam.
I've always been driven by a desire to build things and solve complex problems, so I wanted to be an entrepreneur who could create systems and solutions that make a tangible difference in people's lives.
I heavily rely on Notion and the Google Workspace ecosystem for organizing project documentation, improving digital governance, and building database templates. Lately, my favorite technology has been AI prompt engineering. I am deeply invested in integrating AI into daily project workflows to drive efficiency and team alignment.
I originally come from a background in digital performance media and PPC management. What drew me to PM was the universal need to turn ambitious, chaotic visions into structured, executable realities. What keeps me in it today is the impact. Applying PM frameworks to the renewable energy sector, specifically solar PV and vocational skills development, allows me to see the direct, positive socio-economic results of my projects from initiation to closure.
Professionally, founding GRACE Artisan School ⛽️ On a personal level, I am incredibly proud of taking a leap to focus on global growth Saving Changes...
