Hello All,

I hope this finds you all well!

I am a facilities maintenance coordinator and project manager for a great company. Projects vary between construction to IT in both the private and public sectors.

This is my first taste of project management and I have always dreamt of doing this. From that, you may imagine that I am pretty excited to finally sign up for PMI membership and pursue a PMI certification.

I'm still gauging where to start, but I think fundamentally I should just start from the bottom.

I do coordinate and manage multiple projects, so I am interested in learning about Program or Portfolio management. I am open to any and all suggestions. However, I've yet to hear of a project manager that did not have multiple projects.

I signed up for PMI and this forum because I am looking to learn and hopefully one day be able to help others.

Thanks for having me and I hope to connect with you soon!

Kind regards,
Matthew

Ijeoma Chukwuemeka Clinical Operations Manager| None Katy, Texas, United States
Hello Everyone. I am Ijeoma. My background is in Law and Business Administration and I have been working in the Pharmaceutical research industry for more than 12 years as a Clinical Research Operations Manager. The story of how a lawyer with an MBA ended up managing clinical trials and writing clinical trial protocols will happen on another day! Over the course of my career, I have worked with major pharmaceutical and Biotech companies managing complex clinical trials globally but resident in the US.

Growing up, I wanted to be a graphic artist! However, my parents wanted me to be a Lawyer since my strengths lied in the arts and humanities. Growing up in Nigeria in the early 80s and 90s, one had to be aligned with major professions to earn a decent living! But my love for the arts still burns bright!

Working as a Clinical Operations Manager meant playing the role of a PM without the title and as I climbed the career ladder I quickly realized that arming myself with specific PM skills and knowledge would not only enable me to execute my management tasks precisely but also set me up to succeed in other endeavors I decide to partake of. This led me to the recent acquisition of a PMP certification which was I consider a wonderful validation and a step to great things.

I am currently working on diversifying into managing AI in Clinical research and healthcare and hope to connect with like minded dreamers like myself! Oh! I am also working on growing into my childhood dreams!

Greetings, PMI family. I am Reuben Isaacs, a built environment professional with over two decades of experience transforming concepts into infrastructure that is not only functional but also socially impactful. Trained in ICT, Management, Strategy and project management, led diverse teams and initiatives across Botswana’s public and private sectors, navigating complex stakeholder environments and delivering projects that blend strategy excellence with operational efficiency.

My journey into Project Management and strategy was ignited by an early fascination with alarming projects' failure, which influences human experience. This curiosity evolved into a formal pursuit of Project management and later, strategic Management and leadership.

Like many professionals in our field, I often found myself serving as a project manager by default. Over time, I realized that leadership instincts alone were not enough; what I needed was a globally recognized, systematic approach to managing complexity. That search led me to the Project Management Institute, where the PMP framework has become instrumental in refining my methods, increasing value for stakeholders, and aligning project execution with broader strategic goals.

My Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) is to become a transformational leader in infrastructure development across the African continent, bridging the gap between vision and delivery through sustainable, well-managed, and community-centered projects. I believe in building not just structures, but legacies.

I am honoured to join the PMI network, a global community of changemakers and I look forward to learning, contributing, and collaborating as we shape the future of project leadership together.

Hey everyone! 👋
My name’s Paul Irizarry, and I’m currently working in credit operations management within the banking industry. While I’m not in a formal project manager role yet, I’ve led several initiatives involving workflow improvements, reporting, and cross-team coordination within the banking industry and during my military service—which sparked my interest in making the leap into project management full-time.

I recently started working toward my CAPM® certification to build a solid foundation and expand my skills. I also hold a BBA in Finance, and I’m passionate about efficiency, leadership, and finding practical ways to improve how teams work.

I joined the PMI community to connect with others on a similar path, learn from those ahead of me, and hopefully contribute along the way. If you’ve transitioned into project management from a non-traditional background, I’d love to hear your story or connect.

Looking forward to growing with this community!

welcome to PMI's online community!

Adrian M Head of Operations
Hello everyone. Adrian here!

I’m a PMP certified professional with a strong passion for project and operations management. For the past seven years, I’ve been working as an engineer in the renewable energy sector, focusing on impactful solutions.

I've recently taken on a new role where I’m leading the standardization of project and operations management practices. The goal is to scale up efforts that bring electricity to unserved and underserved communities in developing regions.

I’m excited to connect with others in the industry, share experiences, and learn from this community. I know I’ll be needing a lot of insights and support along the way.
Looking forward to collaborating with you all!
