Thanks for the warm welcome Laura! I am working through the self-paced course. Are there actually any assignments? Also, what about the different management programs as well? I’m on Module 4 right now. I am excited about this journey.

Hi Josh - I'd recommend posting your questions in our forum, Certification Central https://www.projectmanagement.com/discussi...ication-central

By starting a new post, we'll be able to keep discussion threads on topic and get your questions some visibility within the online community!

1. Your name and your current role
My name is Mamdud Sayed, and I’m currently working as a Project Manager in the IT and cybersecurity domain. I’m PMP-certified, with a solid background in managing high-impact projects that sit at the intersection of infrastructure, security, and innovation.

2. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
As a kid, I had this curious mix of fascination for both science and structure. I originally wanted to be a scientist or an engineer, the kind who builds rockets or solves mysterious equations scribbled on a chalkboard. I guess I’ve always had a thing for systems—whether it's atoms or agile frameworks.

3. What are your favorite project management tools and technologies? Or ones that you’d like to learn more about?
I’m a big fan of Oddo,Jira, and MS Project—especially when combined with Power BI for reporting and data insights. MS Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint are my go-to tools. Also used simulation tools like EVE-NG and GNS3 for R&D and lab testing.  Recently, I’ve been exploring AI-enhanced project management platforms, such as ClickUp, with a focus on automation workflows. I’d love to explore digital twin technology in project modeling and simulation for real-world applications.

4. What drew you to the project management industry? What’s kept you in it?
What pulled me in? The balance of logic and leadership. Project management isn’t just about Gantt charts—it’s about people, precision, and purpose. I love how it forces you to think both big-picture and boots-on-the-ground. What’s kept me here? The thrill of turning chaos into clarity, watching a project move from whiteboard to reality, and knowing you orchestrated it like a symphony conductor.

5. What’s your proudest accomplishment (personal or professional)?
Professionally, I’d say leading a cross-border infrastructure migration project involving multiple vendors and stakeholders—delivering it ahead of schedule and under budget—was a career-defining moment. Personally, it’s being able to support and raise a family while continuously upskilling myself and mentoring others. Holding it all together? That’s the real MVP move.

Grant DeCecco Principal| FisherPeak Management North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Hi all, I’m Grant, joining you from Vancouver, Canada. I’ve spent over 20 years in project delivery, working as a Project Manager, PMO Manager, and consultant across industries. My experience spans leading large-scale programs, maturing PMOs, and guiding organizations through complex transformations to align strategy with execution.

For the past three years, I’ve been focused on how Artificial Intelligence can enhance project management. I’ve worked hands-on with AI for risk analysis, predictive reporting, and decision support, always with an emphasis on ethical use and practical adoption. I’m particularly interested in how AI changes the way we plan, lead, and think, and I enjoy helping teams move from experimenting with tools to driving measurable value.

Beyond my consulting work and involvement with PMI, I serve on the executive committee of the Vancouver PMO Community of Practice. This role gives me the chance to share ideas, learn from peers, and contribute to the growth of our profession.

I’m excited to be part of this community, exchange perspectives on emerging practices, and learn what’s working in your environments. If you’re curious about AI in PM or PMO leadership, I’d love to connect!

Tara Reichwein Field Service\Turnaround Coordinator| Bafco inc WARMINSTER, United States
Hello PMI Family, My name is Tara Reichwein and I ma a Field Service Coordinator/Turnaround Coordinator for a company called Bafco, Inc. Our company design custom and specialized Hydraulic Actuators for oil refineries, NASA, Navy and anywhere around the world in need. I have been here almost 16 years.

I never had any desire to lock in to any one specific job as a kid, all I knew was that I wanted to help other and help others obtain what they were looking for. I have a leadership spirit and servant heart. I selected Dietician as my focus of study as I wanted to teach those in America how to eat better and improve life. That slowly changed for me as I had my son in the middle of school and needed to focus on working.
My favorite things about project management is the versatility of mapping out a project or goal, finding the best team fit, and using every tool in our toolbox to obtain that goal. I love to wrap up each project with a bow and a fancy gold star.
I have been in the project management industry for 10 years about now and I love to watch each project go through each stage. I love to empower others with the same excitement of the stages that we reach together. Also, I love a job well done and sharing that with my teammates. It is so amazing what people can do together once you find the right team.
My proudest accomplishment are my boys. 23 and 16 they are amazing humans. Career wise I am so proud of the work I have done moving my sales from 2mil/year to 7mil/year. Knowing and believing that my projects were the ones that took our company to that level. Knowing that my projects hold the trust of our clients for all future projects.
Thank you for listening and allowing me to share. All the best to you all!

Tadeo Moises Sepulveda Vargas Senior FinOps Analyst| Ellucian Mexico City, Mexico

Hi everyone, I'm Tadeo Sepúlveda and I'm currently working as Senior FinOps Analyst in the IT domain.

As a child I have always been interested in everything related to technology (one of my favorite hobbies is to assemble things), so I could say that my dream became done: being an engineer and working in the field of IT.

My favorite project management tool is Jira, and mostly using it with the Agile methodology.

What drew me to the project management industry were the applications of this that I see in my IT field in the day by day. I believe that having project management skills are indispensable to be successful.

My proudest accomplishment I would say that it is to keep studying, due that in field there are always new improvements or technologies every year, and staying in my comfort zone would be a really bad decision.
