Your name and your current role:
Andrew Whitmire, Manager, PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF)
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a drum major. I was so enthralled whenever I saw them leading the band at local parades, and I thought their uniforms were incredibly cool.
What are your favorite project management tools and technologies? Or ones that you’d like to learn more about?
I enjoy using Miro for collaborative brainstorming and visual planning. I also rely on Monday.com to keep multi-stakeholder grant projects organized and on track. I’m interested in learning more about AI-powered tools that can help streamline workflows and provide insight from complex data.
What drew you to the project management profession? What’s kept you in it?
I was drawn to project management because it provided a structure for turning big ideas into meaningful impact. What keeps me here is the opportunity to help others deliver with clarity, focus, and purpose especially when the work is improving lives through education and nonprofit partnerships.
What’s your proudest accomplishment (personal or professional)?
Professionally, I am proud of leading a global grant portfolio that has helped millions of young people gain life skills through project-based learning.

Hi Maqsood Mehdi, welcome to PMI's online community! Saving Changes...
Hi everyone, I’m Bankole AbdurRoheem Itunuayo, joining in from Lagos, Nigeria.
divI’m a Mass Communication student who stumbled into project management through organizing student events, career fairs, and fundraising campaigns, and I’ve been hooked ever since!
I’m now exploring tech-driven PM, especially in Web3 and AI, and figuring out how to blend my communication skills with project execution. One of my most “memorable” experiences was a sponsor asking for something totally new, a day before delivery. It caused friction within my team, but it taught me the golden rule: stakeholder alignment isn’t optional, it’s survival. 😅
I am excited to connect, swap ideas, volunteer, and learn from all the amazing minds here!

Hi everyone, I’m Marie.
Recently, I managed both product and project initiatives to deliver solutions that were not only well-planned but also aligned with business goals and user needs.
When I was growing up, I dreamed of becoming a judge—I’ve always been drawn to roles where integrity, fairness, and structured thinking are essential, and where analyzing complex situations helps lead to the best outcomes.
What brought me into the world of project management was the opportunity to turn ideas into reality—taking a vision, building a plan, and guiding it step-by-step to completion. What’s kept me here is the people: the teamwork, the problem-solving, and the satisfaction of seeing results that matter.
One of my proudest accomplishments was being part of the team that developed a product to automate the process of auditing invoices, streamlining operations and improving accuracy for the organization.
I’m excited to connect, learn, and share experiences with all of you in the PMI community!
Hello everyone!
- I'm Hashi, working for a Japanese system integrator/ IT solutions provider. I also speak Spanish and English - and currently studying a bit of Klingon :)
- Current role: Program/Project Manager, leading the implementation of an AWS-based Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) to boost our organization’s transformation into a cloud-native division with a high-emotional-intelligence(EQ) culture. My professional passion lies at the intersection of technology, organizational change, and human dynamics.
- Growing up, I dreamed of joining the Space Industry, and while that path took a very different turn, the fascination remains: I’m intrigued by how their teams deliver ultra-complex Space missions — and how those lessons translate to Enterprise projects.
- My main focus in project management is the human factor. In Japan, “reading the room” (or we say “atmosphere reading” - sensing unspoken contexts, reading between the lines, etc.) is still a very important PM capability, even in the AI era (I think). I look forward to exchanging views on which human values will define project success as AI takes on a greater share of PM responsibilities. Thank you and Cheers!

Hi everyone!
-Your name and your current role:
My name is Mya Elizabeth, I work in Talent Development at ALSAC/St. Jude.
-What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to own a daycare, be a surgeon, or be a fashion designer.
-What are your favorite project management tools and technologies? Or ones that you’d like to learn more about?
I'm very new to project management, so I'm here to learn everything. I've been using Microsoft loop and Jira so far, but I'm not sure those are true project management tools.
-What drew you to the project management industry? What's kept you in it?
My manager asked me to serve as a project manager for a project several months ago. I got a lot of compliments on how I ran the project and I truly enjoyed it; so now I'm trying to get more into project management. I'm just starting out, so I'm trying to learn the basics. I plan to attend a CAPM bootcamp this fall and take the exam.
-What's your proudest accomplishment (personal or professional)?
It sounds weird, but my proudest accomplishment is just surviving! :)
