Brendan Muench Project Manager| Trinity Metalworks L.L.C. Kerens, United States
My name is Brendan Muench. I work for a custom home building company in the Corsicana, TX area as what you would call an "Accidental Project Manager". We are going through some changes in our business structure as we are specializing in custom homes.

Our business started in the construction of ranch products (cattle guards, corals, chutes, panels, gates...etc.) and would ship both in and out of state to different ranchers, but after the blowup of oilfield pipe pricing throughout the country, we realized we needed to find another area of expertise not directly tied to the oilfield. We started in the construction of steel buildings after this as we always had an eye for perfection and detail and had many contacts within this field already. We did all of the building up to this point ourselves, but as our demand kept growing we started veering into more of a managerial role overseeing other crews who would do the onsite construction, and we specialized in the building prefab and design, but more specifically in the oversight of the project from start to finish. Slowly we started to realize however, that our selling point more suitably aligned with custom home building, customer relations, communication, and complex builds. We have just made the swap over to this area of work in custom homes, and are redesigning our website to be released shortly, establishing systems for organizing our business and customer interactions to ensure no one falls through the cracks, and just to make it an overall easier/more pleasing process for the customer. Our focus is closer to the Dallas area as we feel our ideal customer will be coming from places like this.

As the accidental project manager in this company I am responsible, for the most part, in establishing our systems and organizing our company "documentaly". I'm taking a project management course through Collin College and plan to take my CAPM afterwards as I am entirely unfamiliar with the terminology of a project manager, but I see the need to familiarize myself with this area, and am looking for any sources or help in establishing systems and documents within our business to help our company operate like a well-oiled machine. We currently have not brought in any jobs in the custom home field in so far as we have not yet broken ground but we are very much so involved in the planning/designing of a few projects. I'm currently trying to systemize our process of designing the home, staking them out so our surveys can begin, and ensuring our estimator has everything he needs to submit a conceptual budget as quickly as possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, but I'm mostly looking to network with people on here and get a few contacts for questions I may have in the world of construction project management!

Greetings Everyone, I’m Rami. My background is in Structural Engineering and I have more than 19 years of experience in project management leading Construction and Real Estate Development Projects. Over the course of my career, I worked with reputable organizations and clients both nationally and internationally and been deployed on high profile projects across the Arab Gulf Region, Middle East, China and currently in Vancouver, Canada.

Besides working as a full time Senior Projects Manager with a consulting firm out of British Columbia, Canada and holding multiple key volunteer positions with global organizations, I am also the Founder/Executive Coach at RMK Coaching.

Growing up, I've always wanted to be a surgeon and while my high school grades would have allowed me for a full scholarship, yet, I wasn't able to leave to go study overseas at the time due to some personal circumstances.

My transition from Engineering to Project Management was accidential but smooth at the same time. I got attached to Project Management due to the non-routine nature of the field and the fact that is challenging most of the time. I function best under pressure and enjoy challenging work and I have lots of accomplishements both personal and professional to be proud of.

On a personal level, I am passionate about Personal/ Professional Development. On my free time, I regularly workout, play basketball and enjoy the outdoors. I like trying new restaurants and different foods.

Rodrigo Ferreira Product Analyst - Project Manager| Ford Motor Company Brasília, Brazil
Hello, PMI Community!

My name is Rodrigo Silva Soares Ferreira, and I'm a Product Analyst at Ford Motor Company. I also volunteer with the Project Management Institute.

As a child, I wanted to be a scientist. Today, I see my work in project management as the realization of that dream—transforming complex ideas into tangible results. The constant challenge and learning keep me in the field.

My favorite project management tool is Miro because of its strong visual and collaborative features. I’m also skilled with Jira and Trello. I’m eager to learn more about data analysis tools like Power BI and Tableau to enhance strategic decision-making.

A defining part of my journey is being a wheelchair user. This has taught me that planning, resilience, and adaptability are crucial for overcoming obstacles in life and in any project.

I'm excited to connect and learn with all of you.

Amy Williams None Frederick, United States

Hello everyone!

I recently obtained my certification and am excited to grow deeper into this community. After managing projects for years in my role as VP of a small insurance and financial services firm I’m ready to stretch my legs!

Does anyone have advice for me on how I can get into a more PM centric role in this tough job market? I’m open to and am currently adding more skills and certifications to bolster up my appeal. 😁 Currently I’m knee deep in Monday certification. What an awesome tool!

I’m excited to have joined the Washington, DC chapter and I look forward to networking and getting to know more PM professionals at events locally.

I appreciate any and all words of wisdom and tips you have!

Best wishes,

Amy
