Hello everyone! This might be a weird question on this forum but I am currently interviewing for PM roles in marketing. I am short-listed with one other candidate as a finalist, and wanted to write a letter to the hiring manager about why I am the person he should hire. (You have to be proactive!)

I don't think the other candidate has a PMP. Can you share with me how you communicated or would share the value of PMP in this scenario besides the obvious facts? Any stories or strategies to share where you've been successful at landing a role as PM and what you discussed? (I do have previous experiences in PM/marketing production roles.)

Thank you!

The only two benefits you could convey by having the PMP relative to a candidate who does not are:

1. You have invested in your own professional development within the PM career path.

2. You are familiar with the PMBOK framework which might be an asset if the company you are interviewing with has PM standards which are aligned with or derived from the PMBOK framework.

Besides what Kiron mentioned, you can also let them know how having the PMP added value to you as a Project Manager. Good Luck with the Interview!
