Hi Community,
The whole world is talking about AI these days and there is a reason for that. AI will (and in many cases already does) have a HUGE impact on our lives and our profession as project managers.
Today, I want to focus on the benefits of using AI in project management.
Here's a list of possible benefits based on my research (yes, I also asked ChatGPT 😉 ).
• Enhancing Productivity and Efficiency through Automation and Optimization
• Improving Decision-making Processes with Data-driven Insights
• Streamlining Resource Allocation and Scheduling through AI Algorithms
• Enhancing Project Risk Management and Mitigation Strategies
• Better selection and prioritization
• Support for the project management office
• Improved, faster project definition, planning, and reporting
• Virtual project assistants
• Advanced testing systems and software
Do you miss something? Do you have examples or practical experience of those benefits? I would love to discuss those with you.
Thanks for reading, and I am excited to see what you might have to add.

Markus, there can be many different benefits of using AI. It all depends what outcome you are looking for. You mentioned majority of them but I suggest you check the most recent PMI free course about Generative AI (You will also get a badge and 5 PDUs), it is very informative.

An indirect but invaluable benefit will be when PM's will save 10-20%* of their project time per week by using Genertive AI for research, analysis and overall improvements in planning and implementation... The extra time can go a long way toward benefiting a project if that time is focused on project communications, or another area where the project needs attention.
*10-20% is just a swag

100% agreed, @Jack!
You brought up a very valid point here: Finally, there will be (or is already) a technology that frees all of us from most of the annoying and time-consuming things and frees up our capacity to focus on the important (and also time-consuming) things related to the soft (or Power) Skills, like Communication, Stakeholder Engagement, Conflict Resolution and so on.
Something which didn't jump out from your list is the assistance they can provide in drafting, framing or fine-tuning messaging to specific stakeholders.

Hi,
you are right; it is - as with each of the disrupting technologies - up to us, what we will make of it. Sure, there is also potential for bad use of AI.
That is, why Gartner put "AITrisM" on their list of most important Trends for the upcoming year.
"AI TRiSM
AI trust, risk and security management (AI TRiSM) ensures AI model governance, trustworthiness, fairness, reliability, robustness, efficacy and data protection. This includes solutions and techniques for model interpretability and explainability, AI data protection, model operations and adversarial attack resistance."

Hi Markus,
You may have already seen this but I found the webinar link below quite helpful in understanding how building Domain Specific Lenses can help unlock AI potential. I think most of us are familiar with the general benefits/ concerns around AI but when you 'train' it to reference domain specific data , things can get very interesting..or worrisome depending on your perspective ;)

I just signed up for your waitlist and received the Prompt List; very helpful. Thanks a to n for this.
btw. I am on my way to creating a list of useful AI Tools for PM; have you heard about adam.ai already?
Seems to be something similar to your tool. Thoughts?
