what edition of PMBOK is the PMI RMP exam based

Given that the Exam Content Outline was updated in May 2022, it is quite likely that both the Sixth and Seventh Editions of the PMBOK Guide might be references for some of the questions in the overall RMP exam question pool. However, remember that PMI exams usually have multiple references so I'd also review the Risk Management Standard as well.

I agree with Kiron. From what I know, the exam is heavily based on the Standard for Risk Management but you should also review a few chapters from the PMBOK like Communications, Stakeholders and Risk Management Knowledge Areas. I am not sure if there is lots of weight on the 7th edition of the PMBOK as far as the RMP exam but it doesn't hurt to go through it too.

The most important thing is to ensure you cover the Exam Content Outline because the exam is based on it.
