I think this question is important because AI can have a significant impact on the lives of people and society, both positively and negatively. For example, AI can improve efficiency, productivity, and innovation, but it can also pose risks such as bias, discrimination, privacy, and security. Therefore, project managers need to be aware of these implications and take appropriate measures to ensure that their AI solutions are aligned with the values and expectations of their stakeholders and the society at large.

Like with any other tools used to aid in delivering projects, the PM remains accountable for the success of the project and adherence with standards and regulations. Part of this accountability is ensuring not only that the results from use of AI are vetted but that the data sets used to train the AI are fair and representative.

One aspect could be OpenAI. OpenAI addresses the ethical and social implications of AI through transparency, research, bias mitigation, adherence to ethical guidelines, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement. These efforts ensure responsible AI development, promoting positive impacts on society while mitigating potential risks.

Responsible AI talks about fairness and transparency in addition to other pillars. As a PM, you have to add specific tasks and approvals in the project plan to get accountability of team on the model (it is performing as expected).

Ethical consideration has to happen at all phases of the project by AI Project Manager. This course details about all topics where AI PM can be more effective while building domain-specific ML algorithms (beyond ChatGPT).
