Hello Peers,
Have you ever reported self-study hours for PDUs? Could you share your experience/tips ?
I found that it is acceptable to report self-directed/Self-paced learning, like varied forms of digital media or reading relevant to the certificaton. In both cases PMI links projectmanagement.com as potential source of knowledge (and PDUs).
I've frequently claimed self-study via webinars I've seen (here & on other platforms) as well as book reading. Were you thinking of a different method?
In general, such PDUs can be claimed so long as you have some evidence of the learning & the duration. For example, with reading a book, making some journal notes on the key learnings from the book would help.

Thanks Kiron, is there a limit for self-study PDUs from reading?

Piotr, like Kiron, I do frequently self-report PDUs if they are not aurtomatically reported especially that not all PDUs I get are through PMI, so those have to be manually reported and it is totally fine as long as you have back up documentation in case you were audited.

Thank you Rami for your insight. I haven't done self-reported PDUs yet nor a reading-based claim.
How do you calculate PDU per hours of reading?

You’re welcome. Each hour of reading that is Project Management related is equivalent to 1 PDU!

Hi Piotr,
Of course, it is acceptable to claim self-learning and reading-based PDUs. And the sources do not need to be necessarily PMI-based; any PM-related book or self learning course generally qualifies.
