I hope you're all doing well. I'm a Jr. Project Controller and I'm eager to venture further into the field of project management. So, I'm thinking about getting either the CAPM or IPMA Level D certification. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. N.B my years of experience are below the requirements for PMP.

Ahmed, if you are planning to pursue the PMP in the future, then I recommend you go for the CAPM at the moment. Its a good first step and it is knowledge based. Saving Changes...

Since we are on a PMI platform, there will likely be fewer recommendations for the IPMA path.
In addition, what Rami has already answered is essential and correct:
What does your career plan look like?
Specifically, not just "I want to go in the direction of PM ..."
It would be best if you approached planning your career professionally and like a project.
Plan the goals, the milestones along the way, and the individual steps to achieve these milestones and, ultimately, your overarching goal.
If the overarching goal for the moment is:
I want to be PMP certified in 4 years at the latest, and the CAPM now is one of the first and best steps in that direction.
