Are you utilizing any specific checklists or protocols within your projects or company to assess your readiness for working with Generative AI data? I'm curious to know what strategies or tools you've implemented to prepare for integrating Gen AI into your workflows. Please share your approaches in the comments below!

Hi Claudia, thank you for launching this discussion. I don't have any checklists or protocols to share. I am curious to learn from other colleagues' experiences their recommendations for integrating Gen AI into PM workflows.
I have been waiting for my organization to allow AI use in our project management tracking tools. That tool was supposedly going to get a Microsoft Copilot connector but, it still hasn't happened. We have an enterprise account for ChatGPT. It is secure but, we are still limited in functionality. I have been working with the IP security team frequently as some of the things I touch are IP sensitive. So far I mhave been able to have ChatGPT help teach me a few excel short cuts and have used it to setup one workflow automation that saves me about an hour a week.

Claudia, by now (2026) models are very much matured in term of accuracy. We are using generative AI models very frequently for project management pertaining to supply chain.

Align AI goals with overall business and project objectives.
Understand Stakeholder Needs:

Identify and involve key stakeholders in the AI integration process.
Understand their needs, concerns, and expectations related to AI.
Assess Readiness and Capacity:

Evaluate the organization's readiness for AI adoption.
Assess the available technical infrastructure and the capacity for handling AI technologies.
Data Governance and Quality:

Establish robust data governance policies.
Ensure data quality and integrity for accurate AI model training.
Security and Compliance:

Address security concerns related to AI systems.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Talent Acquisition and Training:

Invest in training programs for existing staff to adapt to AI technologies.
Start with a Pilot Project:

Initiate AI integration with a small, manageable pilot project.
Use the pilot project to identify challenges and refine the integration strategy.
Choose Appropriate AI Models:

Select AI models that align with project goals.
Consider factors such as machine learning algorithms, deep learning, or natural language processing based on project requirements.
Ethical Considerations:

Establish ethical guidelines for AI use.
Address biases and fairness concerns in AI algorithms.
Monitoring and Evaluation:

Implement robust monitoring mechanisms for AI performance.
Regularly evaluate the impact of AI on project objectives.
User Training and Acceptance:

Claudia, this is a great question. However, given the nature of what we do as consultants, we haven't yet started preparing for this but would be very interested to see what other professionals and organizations are doing!

We are currently working on our AI Framework & Policy.

Hi Claudia - We have not started looking into this as a company yet. But I am interested in what others are doing to see if we can duplicate the process on a smaller level since I work for a small (under 50 employees) company.

Hi Claudia - We have not started looking into this as a company yet. But I am interested in what others are doing to see if we can duplicate the process on a smaller level. I work for a small (under 50 employees) company and our resources are stretched thin.

Hi Claudia, I don't have any data to share; however, I appreciate launching this discussion channel. I am curious how much this is in real use and how much of it is hype. Thank you.
