Waterfall and Agile in the same dev department?

All,

For a given development function/department, what would you consider to be the key issues arising from managing both Waterfall and Agile projects within the function?

Immediate ones that spring to mind are:
- Mental adjustment of staff moving between one type of project and another;
- Difficult to compare progress reports - both types can report progress against plan, but the plans are intrinsically different;
- Increased number of processes to maintain and monitor;
- The SDLC is a differentiator that could be held to account for project difficulties that might originate elsewhere;
- Interdependencies may be problematic, in either direction.

Can you think of any others?

What about advantages?

Thanks

Hi ana

Why would you compare, mix staff. Seems to me a problem in the agility of mind of the management.
