I am looking for any recommendations on online trainings that could help me to prepare for the RMP exam.
Obviously a training should provide EDU.br type="_moz"

Piotr -

When I wrote the RMP exam back in 2011 I did not find it so challenging that a course was required. In my case, reading the Risk Management knowledge area chapter in the PMBOK Guide and the Risk Management Practice Guide along with lots of practice with questions from pmstar.org was sufficient.

I'd suggest doing a practice exam from a reputable source to give you a baseline score and then based your learning plan on the outcomes of that.

Kiron,

Question: In your post, you mentioned one of your preparatory methods was the Risk Mgmt. practice guide from PMStar.org. Where did you find this resource? I looked on their website and cannot find any study guides for RMP besides their course which I am not interested in.

Dear Piotr,

Preparing for the RMP (Risk Management Professional) exam, that's a great goal. The RMP certification really adds a solid credential to your profile, especially if you're into managing project risks. When it comes to online training for the RMP exam, there are quite a few options out there that can help you get ready.

First off, PMI itself is a good starting point. They offer a range of materials that are directly aligned with what you'll need for the exam. Also, check out PMI’s online courses – they might have something specifically tailored for RMP prep.

Then, there are platforms like Udemy, Coursera, and LinkedIn Learning. They often have courses specifically designed for RMP exam prep. What's great about these platforms is that you can go at your own pace, and they usually cover a broad range of topics that you'll find in the RMP exam content outline.

Another option is to look at specialized project management training providers. Companies like Simplilearn, PMStudy, or RMC Learning Solutions offer focused RMP prep courses. These can be a bit more intensive and are often taught by experienced professionals who can provide insights beyond just the textbook material.

Also, don't forget about study groups. Sometimes, you can find online communities or forums where people are prepping for the same exam. These can be incredibly helpful for discussing tricky topics or just keeping each other motivated.

When you're choosing a course, make sure to check for a few things – like whether the course is up to date with the latest RMP exam content and if it includes practice exams or quizzes. Practice questions are super important for getting a feel of the actual exam.

So, what do you think? Does one of these options stand out to you? Remember, the best course will depend on your personal learning style. Some people prefer video lectures, others like interactive sessions or self-paced reading. Make sure to choose something that fits how you learn best. And good luck with your prep – the RMP is a challenging but really rewarding certification to have!

BR,

Markus

Thank you Markus for the comprehensive feedback. From all the sources mentioned, I'll go with Udemy. I found an interesting course there, matching my preferences, giving PDUs, and up to date to the latest version.
