In our multilingual project, Generative AI (Gen AI) shines. French and English coexist, and Gen AI thrives as our linguistic ally. It corrects grammar, enhances clarity, and fosters collaboration. Challenges? Cultural nuances. Benefits? Accelerated workflows and robust safety protocols. Gen AI—a language expert at our service.

There are limitation but for starters its great to see it can generate sql code, draft project deliverables, describe elements within photo, create logos and provide meaningful responses to diverse 'How tos' questions. Due to data privacy laws, government organizations restrict staff members. However we might see things change with cost-effective private LLMs in future as a result of rapid developments in both AI and Cloud computing.

I have mainly used Gen AI to explore risks related to my projects and have a bease to start on with more traditional approaches with expert meetings, branstorms etc. So I used Gen AI for risk identification and have hints on classification in terms of quantification. Results have been discussed later with experts, but this approach sped up the whole Risk Management process

In my projects, we've successfully deployed Microsoft Power Automate coupled with AI Builder features to address a common challenge: streamlining project communication and collaboration.
We noticed that communication bottlenecks were hindering project progress. Team members were spending valuable time searching for information, waiting for responses, and manually updating stakeholders on project status.
We leveraged Microsoft Power Automate along with AI Builder to create intelligent chatbots tailored to our project needs. These chatbots utilized natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to understand and respond to inquiries from team members and stakeholders.

In terms of challenges -

Data Overload: Sorting through vast amounts of project data was a major hurdle. Identifying relevant information amidst the noise was like finding a needle in a haystack.
Complex Communication Dynamics: Understanding the nuanced language and context of project-related inquiries posed a significant challenge. We needed a solution that could decipher and respond appropriately to various queries.
Integration Complexity: Integrating AI-powered chatbots seamlessly with our existing project management tools, such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, was no small feat.

Having addressed these challenges our AI-powered chatbots successfully addressed communication challenges, delivering lightning-fast responses and streamlining collaboration across project teams.

We've had great success in building a culture to welcomes GenAI for ideation and brainstorming. We continue to focus on our data governance needs and best approach for a secure Enterprise approach where we can unleash the power of AI on our own assets to do analysis such as Pascal's example for lessons learned. Part of the challenge is ensuring the benefits we gain provide sufficient ROI.

Our engineer department is working with Gen AI in our labs but I have not personally been exposed to it. We are focusing on our data infrastructure as a pre-requisite to then apply the functionality of Gen AI to our business information.

I have not experienced using Generative AI in my projects yet since my company (at least the branch where I work) does not utilize tools such as ChatGPT yet. I do see a huge potential wherein if ChatGPT is used for project documentation works it could save us PMs here in Papua New Guinea time especially, given the nature of the workforce here, lots of document works tend to be delayed simply because the person/s assigned did not perform their works and/or did not perform on time and efficiently and many times we PMs are left with no choice but to tackle the tasks ourselves in order for us to meet our deadlines. When this happens, GenAI, properly utilized, would be a huge time saver and could provide us clear and efficient project documentation and requirements that could be submitted on time.
