Have you experienced wonderful, potentially unexpected successes using Generative AI in your projects?

I'm eager to hear about the innovative outcomes you've achieved with Gen AI, and how data played a role in these ventures.

What challenges did you encounter, and what benefits did you realize in this process?

Hello Claudia and the team,
I consider being in a discovery stage of Gen AI opportunities and risks.
PMI trainings are extremely valuable in preparing properly AI integration in professional organisations as well in private usage of the tool.
I'm convinced that AI will support improving project management quality as soon as Gen AI deployment is properly managed.
Best regards
Stéphane

Hello, I used AI on my last project to build a PowerShell script to analyze and report on system adoption metrics using a large set of unstructured files. I started the process by defining the report's metrics, design logic and business rules. I then fed those elements into the AI via a series of progressively refined contextual prompts that were specific to my use case and objectives.

The end result was a fully automated script that delivered immediate value on the adoption metrics that I was looking for, and that objective was achieved in a fraction of the time that it would have taken through traditional scripting (by me anyway, as I am no PowerShell expert). AI was frighteningly effective. Other PMs that have done this will know what I mean.

I've had great success using Generative AI to boost productivity and creativity. It helped me quickly draft documents, brainstorm ideas, and even write code more efficiently. In one project, I used it to generate content for a software platform, saving time and ensuring consistency. It’s been a helpful tool to speed things up and improve the quality of my work.

Began working with AI to introduce a way to systematically reproduce updated paperwork for orders as they continually shift and are currently being done by hand. Find the previous version, open the various sources of information that is being changed and hunt and pick out the nuggets needed to complete it. Time consuming and fraught with areas for possible error inclusion. We decided to give our enterprise AI, Claude, a shot at it. After several prompt engineering iterations we came across a few things that were useful to take away FOR US. We found that our prompts worked well but our data wasn't being read as well as we would have liked it to be. We modified headers, directly input place holders for VERY specific data and then tried it all again and again. It worked but the template manipulation and the data changes made it more cumbersome than doing it by hand. Do we need to figure that portion out, yes, but i digress. What we found was that Claude works very intuitively with image data and doesn't need the DB that we thought it would need to work. By just taking a few screen shots and loading them in the with the prompt and template info we were able to get our paperwork 90+% completed. We are refining between daily work needs but have found a way forward and that is satisfying.

My greatest successes have come in interviewing the model after it has taken in the data to confirm it has a solid understanding of the information, then using the output not as a trusted source but as a prompt to consider the result, come up with new ideas, and perhaps prompt the model again and compare differences in the response. Oddly, this helps me align a common understanding of multiple outputs because my human brain can splice like contexts together.

Not yet. But I am exciting to deal with soon

I have used GenAI to do multitude of tasks. I have used it for budget forecast, preparing white paper outline, and have also used it to assign proposals to reviewers based on specific criteria.

I've been using GenAI to help with brainstorming, developing articles and communication templates, and do some project management excel worksheet building. I've been able to produce documents much faster and increase my efficiency.
Definitely. Applying AI for brainstorming and communication has helped me improve my efficiency. However, total dependence can created the gap for critical thinking.

Hi Claudia,

Yes, we’ve seen some surprising successes with Gen AI in Singapore’s fast-paced project environment.

One key breakthrough was during an infrastructure upgrade where AI helped summarise technical reports and cross-check against BCA codes. What used to take days in manual review was completed in minutes—allowing faster design iteration and regulatory submission.

Another unexpected win was using Gen AI to draft customised updates for different stakeholders—owners, consultants, and subcontractors. This boosted clarity and trust, especially during tight deadlines.

Challenges? Data governance was the big one. With Singapore’s strict PDPA and client requirements, we had to avoid cloud-based models and instead explore on-prem or masked datasets. Also, many AI tools lacked local context—so prompt tuning and human oversight were essential.

Despite that, the benefits—quicker planning cycles, improved team alignment, and clearer documentation—made a real difference. Gen AI hasn’t replaced our judgment, but it’s become a sharp co-pilot, helping us manage complexity and stay agile.

The key has been responsible use, with human checks and local tailoring.

Appreciate the chance to share—keen to learn how others are unlocking value across regions too!
