What successes have you experienced with Generative AI?

I have not used AI yet, but I am looking forward to trying some things I have picked up through this.

Over the past two years I have use generative AI to rewrite some of my communications. Also I use it daily in my meetings. We record the meetings and I have AI summarize and build action item tables. Once it is reviewed then I repost in the meeting for those who could not attend. This really helped when I was on PTO because I was able to get a summary without listening to hours of meetings.

I've been leveraging different AI tools to help me better manage projects. Notetaking tools have been simply wonderful as it generates a great summary with a list of action items at the end of the meeting. I have created some basic workflows that take documents, parse them, then execute actions like generating emails, meeting invites, or updating artifacts. I use NotebookLM to quickly ramp up on new tools/topics by leveraging the Podcast, mindmap, faq, and study guides features. I have also created specialized gpts to help me easily create custom documents, based on a template, for each project. Overally, I would say AI has simplified many of the administrative parts of the PM role, allowing me to focus on the collaboration, due diligence, and actual management.

My thought:

While I haven’t yet deployed Generative AI directly within live projects, I’ve already seen meaningful value in how it supports thinking, structure, and decision preparation. Even at an exploratory stage, GenAI has proven effective in accelerating idea generation, improving the clarity of project documentation, and helping frame risks, assumptions, and scenarios more quickly.

The real success so far has been understanding where GenAI adds value and where it should not replace human judgment. Used responsibly, it can enhance planning, reporting, and analysis, while accountability, approvals, and final decisions remain firmly with project leadership.

I see the greatest potential not in automation alone, but in enabling better, faster, and more informed project decisions when supported by strong data governance.
