Hello all, and happy New Year to you! This year is statistically significant and will likely see more ramifications of AI in various domains. AI has always been around, but democratization happened only in late 2022 with the ChatGPT revolution, and then 2023 saw the deluge of AI-related roles, companies, IT applications, and more. 2024 may lessen the hype around AI and bring in some consolidation and streamlining with a reinforcement of the regulatory lens. It's just the beginning of the year, and it's what we do this year that will define the course of this technology.
I’m curious: if you were in a room full of project managers with varied experience in years and domains, what’s the ONE (only one!) question you’d ask them about AI?
Thanks and happy new year once again! Saving Changes...
What ethical considerations should we take into account when implementing AI in project management, especially in terms of bias and fairness?
Ironically this question is also provided by chatGPT.
So it is imperative to exercise caution in the utilization of AI, as an overreliance on it may inadvertently cultivate a dependency with the risk of habitually resorting to AI even for straightforward queries that could otherwise be addressed through a brief process of introspection.

Very True Anil "Biasism" has become the Major concern and that's why many Organizations don't want to take chances.
For that matter AI is already there for ex: Excel "Flashfill" is a good example these kind of things can be leveraged and utilized and for Customer Support Chatbots kind of thing which Amazon, etc..in Retail space, Hospital Management for the Patients History records these kind of things help but otherwise other areas and all not that feasible and more Biasim to solely rely on the "Effective GPT prompts" and to rely whether it's without Biasim or not this judgement call a Project Manager should take and it can either leverage things to the positive side if things work else will cascade and become TOTAL DISASTER because if Biasim
Thanks,
Vijay

Deepa very right question you asked and it's about "Generative AI" which is all about Supervised/Unsuperivsed/Reinforcement Learning. And for this heavy data feeding and injection is needed and as it's still in the nascent stage though ChatGPT came and when it came to public it took 2.5mths for 10,000,000 users penetration and Facebook(Social Media) took 4.5yrs and it is till 2027 what ThinkThanks/Analysts are talking about the Hype around in the Media and the Global Market. Recently attended IPM Day 2023 in that one lady was talking about AI helping in Resource Management this is "Impossible" because Resource Loading will be very very volatile for Mega Projects to some extent can help, what about Volatile(VUCA Projects), Complex Projects. Your question is very valid one
Thanks,

Hi Deepa,
Here’s my challenge-based question for your consideration.
If the following progression is true:
1. Transparency » Leads to facts (and enables accountability).
2. Facts » Lead to the discovery of truth.
3. Truth » Authorizes trust.
How can we trust Gen-AI when the era of transparency has been “lost to time” through democratization and monetization?

My question would be "are you involved in an AI initiative at your company?"
I feel project managers can influence AI usage with views on ethical stances, data scrubbing, and validation of AI outputs as well as how the PMO/Enterprise uses AI to conduct their daily functions. As PMs, we should already be checking the information and data our team members and stakeholders give us and I feel this is a way we can show our experience in finding the underlying truth within AI outputs.

Wow! A good practical question! I am sure they must have AI in their mind.
