Do you think we should follow the example of the Hollywood actors and writers and demand regulation for the use of AI in project management?

Ricardo -

Why? In the case of content creators and actors there is a strong risk of job loss or intellectual property theft whereas PMs stand to benefit from the use of AI. Until the capabilities reach a level where AI can replace the judgment of a seasoned PM AND team members are willing to be led by AI, there shouldn't be the need for such concerns.

Ricardo, I totally agree with Kiron's point of view. AI should be regulated and will be at some points but from PM perspective, its a great asset for PM's that can help optimize processes.

The movie industry demands were due to the ability of AI to generate new content using an actor's image and/or voice without their permission or compensation. I can certainly see the value of regulations preventing AI impostors using someone's likeness for commercial purposes regardless of the industry. Ethos (appeal to a speaker's status or authority) is a classic component of rhetorical persuasion and pretending to be that person for the purpose of persuasion amounts to fraud.

There are already laws against electronic impersonation, such as on social media however they will most likely need to be revised to account for using AI to do the impersonation.br type="_moz"

Ricardo, I don't think you are suggesting either way to regulate or not. If you feel the use of AI should be regulated in Project Management, what are your concerns?

In the lieu of concerns, as Program Manager, I feel that Generative and Analytical AI models within Project Management will bring nothing but more efficiency. The only fear I foresee is that we get so used to with accuracy that we will stop reviewing the outcomes before taking decision based on information generated by AI, this can happen today without AI due to our brain building confidence on data overtime.

AI needs regulations. AI in project management, maybe in future.

Yes. Especially in the amorphous and emerging areas of copyrights and related laws on intellectual properties (plus its fair use implications where applicable).
