How can we prevent proprietary information leaks with Generative AI?

Do companies have to broker custom Enterprise Generative AI platforms for internal use instead of leveraging on public platforms like ChatGPT?

I think at some point companies will do so but AI is still in its infancy and many organizations are just starting to utilize AI. We shall wait and see ...

Yes, none of the public platforms in their non-enterprise instances are suitable for sharing proprietary or confidential information. OpenAI and other vendors are offering enterprise versions (at cost) where the data provided by clients is not used by them for training their public models.

Larger companies are doing exactly that however it does require a significant IT budget putting it out of reach of smaller companies.
