Subhankar, you can add PMI Sydney Local Chapter to your PMI Membership. If you go to your PMI.org Account, then on the top right corner where your name is, click the arrow and choose Membership from the drop-down menu.
Under membership, you will see your Bangalore Chapter and under it there is a tab “Join Chapter”, click it and you should be able to find Sydney Chapter and join it.

Thank you for the detailed guidance unfortunately it doesn't allow me to. Happy i had reached out to the CS team to support over this and they confirmed that with 1 membership only 1 chapter is possible and that i can't revoke the existing chapter. Happy to connect with you and share screenshots of the error statement.

Subhankar, this doesn’t make any sense because I see many members on this platform with multiple chapters affiliations and at some point in the past, I was a member of two chapters. For example, check Karthik Ramamurthy profile and you will notice that he is a member of so many chapters.
Unless there is a geographic region restriction like Kiron mentioned, then you should be able to add more than one chapter so I suggest you connect with Customer Case again, and provide them with screen shots and discussion this further with them.
1. When I check my Membership page, it does show I could add more than one chapter
2. The https://www.pmi.org/membership/faq page has a question "Can I be affiliated with more than one chapter?" and the answer provided is "Yes, you can join more than one PMI chapter. Individual chapter dues apply. Chapter affiliations are managed via your PMI Global membership profile."
So my guess is that either the person who responded to you is unaware of this capability, it is a restriction based on the geographic region you are in, or there is a system glitch on pmi.org.

Hi All,
I think its a region wise restriction as I also have been asked to wait until my current chapter expires to join a new chapter by the CS. Only within 30 days of joining a chapter we can transfer the chapter is what was advised which is actually a bit worrying as I have relocated to a new country and have to wait till the end of my membership expiry to change it to the updated local chapter.
